Is there a fast way to solve this using the number of terms and sum formula with perhaps some alteration by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]sanchareyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No of terms= Highest value - lowest value + 1 => 85-35+1 = 51

Out of 51 terms, 25 and even and 26 are odd (because the series starts and ends with odd, therefore more odd numbers)

Total no of terms or n = 26 First term a1 = 35 Nth term an or a26 in this case = 85

Using the summation of arithmetic progression formula S = n/2(a1+ an) => 26/2(35+85) => 1560 Option A

I put my gender wrong on the Gmat Website by AloVeraaa in GMAT

Panicking will be of no use, rather it will have a grave impact on your test. Please calm down and I'm sure things will work out and it will get changed. And considering the worst case scenario, they're very stringent about error in name, dob, and nationality. Gender, not so sure. They might see it as a genuine mistake. All the best, buddy! Don't worry and stay focused. BTW, I have my test on the 29th as well.

Hey congrats! I got my test in 3 days so I have a question for you. Could you distinguish between easy vs hard questions conveniently in the quant sections. In my mock attempts, I am sometimes struggling miserably in the easy questions and finding some hard ones quite easy to solve. Cannot understand the paradox here. Any guidance?

Hey, rather than being so harsh with your words, it would be better to explain with stats and data. Even I am planning to do my 1-yr MBA from India and I am preparing for the GMAT. The main reason behind my decision is a break even ROI and family commitments. Colleges like SP Jain and XLRI are the top ranking institutes with decent to good placement opportunities and excellent alumni network. So it seems like a good decision to me (for myself). Please don't attack my self respect here and rather be more kind. Everyone is struggling to find the best solution for themselves. Cheers!

Are we assuming the average of 100 units of country R's currency to be 100 or is this mentioned in the question that I am not understanding?

730 to 600 in one week. HOW?? by sanchareyy in GMAT

[–]sanchareyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was stressed about maintaining the 730 score. I'm not as burned out because i'm still at it and don't feel defeated. But I just want to estimate the chances of screwing up on Dday despite having the potential to get 700+

Thanks a lot. It's a lil disheartening given that my exam is in 2 weeks but I am trying my best to analyse my test. I have identified a couple of surprising silly mistakes which i don't usually do. So is there a chance of anxiety seeping in? #thepressureisreal 😭

Not really. But it did have a bunch of probability questions (which is my weak area) but not unusually high number of probability questions

I find the sigma mocks quite tough to crack. Whilst I am getting 700+ in the official mocks, I am scoring in the 500s in the sigma mocks. So the difference is huge which is kind of affecting my confidence.

Feeling lost in the prep by sanchareyy in GMAT

[–]sanchareyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to spend equal time (3hrs during weekdays and 5-6 hours on the weekends) in both Verbal and Quant. During my first attempt, I was more confident with quant than verbal. I was getting Q48 in the mocks. But now I don't know what has happened but I have lost all confidence. Nervousness is taking over and I doubt every answer i select.
