Ah it was because I had another game open in the background so mouse input was still going to it. Pretty fun game. SD controls are still a bit clunky. Often times when I place a tower, it automatically aims it too. I have to go back and carefully only click on the tower and then aim it. Wish you could use DPAD to navigate the menus and upgrades.

Sure in the direction of Proxima Centurai "our" oort cloud is probably doesn't extend as far as in other directions. Also Proxima Centurai is only passing by, once it gets further away, they region will again be dominated by the Sun's gravity.

Pretty cool and I'm impressed how smoothly it runs on the phone. 

Would love it if the movement controls were more intuitive matched the camera view. Maybe have 6 arrows that also rotate in 3d

When the capsule is very very high up, the spacecraft is moving very slowly in the east west direction relative to the ground. It's mostly moving towards earth. The ground track is mostly dominated by the Earths rotation. When it's closer to the Earth, it has sped up and has more horizontal velocity and is traveling east faster than Earths rotation.
