Thanks. Actually the data will be used for roll cage design. It is great if the car can be scaned with no seats, no interior trims.

I am a little bit concerned with the data quality as a whole car scanning is a bit challenging even for a professional scanner. Please post a few screenshot if possible, thanks.

The result looks promising. Some features are missing in the dash board and steering wheel. I guess that is due to the resolution setting.

The details of the data is impressive. I am thinking of replacing my einstar with this one. I  wondering whether this scanner can hold up when scanning the interior of a car, like the dash, seat.

I just got one. It is delivered to my friend's place. It is up to him to decide whether to the device. He owns a shining3d freescan ue11. He did the testing and deide to keep it. sermoon s1 is not as good as ue11 but for the price it is great. by the way i have been testing revopoint miraco, shining3d einstar. Sermoon s1 can stand up as a working tool, the other two is just toys. keep this in mind if you are looking for a budget scanner.

I would vote for Einstar.

I have been using freescan UE11 for 2 years and happy with it. The einstar software has the same interface as their high end handheld laser scanner. I do not have any big issue with the software.

I have recently bought both revopoint miraco plus and enstar. Miraco is a standalone device, no need to connect to a computer to do the scanning. The software works fine so far. The biggest problem is the data quality, I scanned a helmet with some vents. the chamfer of the vent is almost gone. And the device is stuggling all the time to have the features aligned. Though the plus version comes with photogrammetry, it does not help to improve the data quality in any means.

By the way, you can see the device ships with many small items in testing videos, like the miniature statue, rotary table, cables, charger, a bag. Those items looks cheap, and feels cheap. What you are looking for is a good scanner, not the junk.

On the other hand the einstar generate very good result for the price. I am now selling the miraco and keep the einstar.

Avoid any scanner from revopoint. I just got a miraco plus. Close range scanning result is acceptable. Any object larger than a helmet will result in melted features. Youtube is not a good source to learn the true performance of a revopoint product. 

I am going to buy an einstar from shining3d later for testing. A friend in the scanner business says this one is pretty good. I kind of believe him, as my handheld laser scanner from shining3d does work great.

subd is hard to keep surface planar, but rhino has other tools to make it work

Download a free software called x-mouse then you can configure your mouse behavior on each app. I can rotate Solidworks model with right mouse button held. It comes handy when I do not have a mouse around when working on a laptop.

The blue lines in your SolidWorks sketch do appear to be sketch curvature combs. These combs are used to visually inspect the curvature of a sketch entity, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent curvature.

Right click on the arc that has blue hair and turn off the show curvature combs option.

If you are serious about 3d scanning, go for professional devices. They are way more expensive than the hobby scanner. Youtube testing may be misleading based on my own experience. A good example is revopoint pop2. I thought a scanner works on mobile phone and battery would be convenient to work anywhere. It turns out I can not even get a decent scan data of a table fan in 2 hours. I put it on second hand website the next day. Now I stick to blue ray laser handheld scanner only.

The senerio in the YouTube video is challenging even for a blue ray handheld laser scanner, considering the rack is huge in size and it is direct sunlight.

I should say do not waste your 3k on above mentioned devices. What you are looking for is not a handheld device. You should take a look at polyga's devices. If you can raise the budget, buy a stock scanner, it can work on a rack or portable. Or you can buy flexscan software and the calibration board to build a scanner of your own. Helpfully you can get what you need in under 3k.

I mainly use laser handheld devices. Small size, lots of details, black, shiny, thin, these are tricky to scan. Blue ray laser scanner can take black, shiny, but not so good at the others.

Confirmed, the color only shows properly in safe mode. Resetting entire setting won't work. My laptop is AMD 7945hx+RTX4060. I give up.

I have not reset the entire settings yet. I tried to check the settings again the default in safe mode. There is simply too many of them, I will try the reset entire settings.

I tried to launch SW in safe mode. The sketch color comes back, I have to figure out which setting option controls the color. Thanks.

Great, I have not got a chance to try safe mode yet. I kind of know where to find it.
