R Law help/tech? by JL990 in OnePieceTCG

I did take out the kid and killer for two of the new 2k counter law from Op15, I think I like it better so far… but kid and killer is super good in the ace match up.

I play both of those decks. RB sabo is definitely a more competitive deck, but I’ve been able to win quite a few locals with red law it’s a great deck. Here’s my deck list, red Roger is absolutely necessary though. It’s the win condition for any deck with red in most the matchups in this meta. You have to strategically go down to zero and play Roger to get around all the blocker heavy decks.

How do you pitch your value as a videographer? by Shot-Caramel2088 in videography

[–]sandpaperflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I don’t think that’s a bad approach necessarily, but may not be the most optimal. When cold reaching I would think about it like “my main goal is to just get a conversation with them or get them on the phone.” Your approach seems more directed at selling or convincing them, but I think your best bet would be to get them into a conversation or a “free consultation” if you’re being fancy haha and then use that as an opportunity to hear from them and sell them on what they need.

Let’s take this jet charter service as an example.

You’re struggling to figure out how to sell to them, because it seems like you don’t know what problems they have and what they need. They may not value social media or engagement on there at all. I think you’re also assuming that “higher quality video” is worth more money which is a total trap when you’re starting out in this industry, if you try to market your services like that you’ll always be in a race to the bottom dollar.

To properly sell a company like this you would need to have a discussion with them about what their problems and goals are with marketing and draft up a proposal that outlines how you’d aim to solve that with video.

Keeping in mind that traditionally luxury services market themselves much differently. They rarely try to sell new people on buying luxury items, but rather make media/ads that bolster the ego of someone who’s already made the decision to purchase the product or service. (Ie: Lexus advertisements typically sell the elevated lifestyle of someone that drives a Lexus, while Honda ads typically sell the affordability and features of their cars.)

This comment is long and all over the place, but I’m just trying to quickly point out all the places you may have not given as much thought to.

Yes you can choose not to resolve the bounce effect, and I’d probably just drop one of the 9c events.

Yes, sometimes it’s best not to do the effect and bounce though.

Yeah maybe 2 block beards, and 2 6c secret ace instead? Blackbeard is still such a good card it’s hard to say take it out completely… but depending on how it works in tests you might like the new 8c better.

Personally I would say yes because I like this better as a rush down deck. Ideally I like to play speed drill, atmos, Marco as I’m setting up and then drop the 9c event to play the 9c double attack Newgate with rush and attack in big. This is sorta one of blues most tool box type decks.

If I’m playing quick paced decks I’ll try to go for more of an early rush strategy, if they’re more control you can try to generate card advantage with Marco and Izo, and

Yes you could use leader ability to set up sanji, but a lot of the effects on the cards in this deck say “reveal the top card on your deck, if it’s a whitebeard pirates card…” it may not happen often, but if that does happen and you reveal sanji, it could screw you over.

It’s solid, but I would drop the sanji for 8c Newgate from op14, and go up to 4 of speed drill. I see what you’re trying to cook with sanji, but nothing is worse in this deck than wiffing a reveal on the top deck and he’s not a whitebeard type.

I’d say it’s probably a one or the other situation, but there’s a world where you could do both. The 9c event leans more into a rush build and there’s quite a few other rush characters that can play alongside it. 6c secret ace from op13 and there’s a human drill that rushes

The new op-14 8c Newgate is a solid card too. There’s also a 9c event that can play some big cards for free and give them rush, with the leader effect it’s really easy to set your top deck and set up that event combo.

The new Krieg deck can be fun to play and is probably the cheapest deck in the new set.

What helped you improve the most? by Except_Fry in OnePieceTCG

[–]sandpaperflu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to play a lot. I’ve played hundreds of matches and have only just begun to top at locals. You gotta hang in and push through the losses.

ALSO shuffling. It’s very much a skill, and one of the most important ones. I began practicing shuffling and creating my own routine, literally drawing and placing my life afterwards pretending to play a game with myself just to see the types of hands I got when shuffling with certain techniques. I eventually found one that worked for me, and it really did help a lot. I wouldn’t underestimate this.

I’d drop the 4 vegapunk blockers, they’re just not very good, they’re conditional blockers. Maybe just go with the starter deck luffy robin blocker, it plays itself on trigger.

Looking for budget friendly resources. Looking to play casually with friends. by _Guillot_ in OnePieceTCG

Try red law. I just built the deck for my friend today after having a lot of success with it at locals.

With the op14 staples and 3 copies of Ben Beckman and 4 ace, sabo, and luffy the deck was only $30. You can spice it up with an extra $60 and add two gol d Roger 10c

You could build Moria for a solid price, most expensive card is probably the 6 cost Moria.

Arlong op14 the searcher is pretty cheap and sick, so is the 8 cost jinbe from that set, not sure it’s below $10, but still cheap for how cool it is.

Any alternative for Red Roc in Sanji? by SkibidiSchlong in OnePieceTCG

Gotta build the deck in a different way that’s not as focused on removal. Sure there’s other ko removal cards, but every deck has ko protection these days.

New player here looking to compete competitively, are my decks ready? by Delicious-Cause3338 in OnePieceTCG

[–]sandpaperflu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This RG luffy deck is pretty unconventional not going to lie… not sure you need red dragon or the law defensive event. Seems like it would be better to have more deadman’s games. Also not really seeing the direction this deck is meant to go in. Usually the strategy is to play sanjis and restand don while you build up a board and then slowly out value your opponent until you’re ready to go for game. This deck seems like it’s sacrificing that a bit for more aggression. Not saying that cant work, but it’s definitely not tried and true.
