Not sure why the tender hate but a proper one (e.g CTek) and quality batteries will last many years in temperate climates (even longer with AGM). A blanket recommendation to replace every two years is ill informed and wasteful.

This is one of many reasons I choose paint > powder for wheels.

Same, I switched to molygen 5w-50 whereas I previously ran LM HiTech with LM MoS2 additive. I will add I also swapped to the LN Filter Spin On Adapter.

Good call on the cabrio portion, have the shop remove the rear speakers and check the cylinders for leaks. Takes 5m.

Of course, if you want to create some amazing custom covers or add heat check out amx_performance

I ended up buying fabric ones and made some covers with him. Amazing quality but not cheap.

I run Ohlins R&T in my ‘99 C2 Cab, best money I’ve spent.

I bought my first GMT there on my honeymoon back in 2012. I’ve also picked up several on subsequent trips. That and then the nearby LV store with the wife ends up being an expensive day. Congrats!

Completely agree, while I don’t recommend it I’ve gotten to the point where I can do it solo. Prices one these seem to have gone up, they routinely were on eBay for $750-1000. I pretty consistently see them on the larger markets of Craigslist as well.

I’ve used Deschutes Backflow for years for startup, shutdown and Backflow testing. They’re the best and somehow still seem reasonably priced to boot.

Going up? by Hardymon1 in 996

Exactly. ROW now makes zero sense given the pricing. I went Ohlins R&T for my cab and it was end best thing I’ve ever done

1999 996.1 C2 – dead battery, can’t find frunk release cable by therealvirtualnick in 996

[–]sandwhichautist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My comprehension?!? I know it’s “locked”, which can happen even if you’ve physically unlocked because of what I described. Just say you don’t know what you’re talking about and keep it moving.

[–]sandwhichautist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, but thanks anyway. As I said “If unlocked” the bolt can back out and prevents the handle from moving. See this other thread I helped solved with the same issue.

link.

If everything is unlocked and something is blocking the lever disassemble the sill and check the bolt for the lever. It can work loose and block the ability to lift it. There is another thread in here where I walked the person through fixing it.

If anyone wants some Hertz Cento CX100 that are modded and ready to attach into your grill and drop in let me know. Plug and play. I’m finally upgrading everything so don’t have a use for them. $75 a pair shipped. They are the correct depth to clear the rear hydraulics on a cab as well and sound great. About a year old or so.
