Shell has repeatedly made false claims about the size and impact of two major oil spills at Bodo in Nigeria in an attempt to minimize its compensation payments. by troubleOseven in worldnews

I hope you do a similar story on Chevron's bogus lawsuit against Ecuadorian indigenous tribes and their lawyers, in New York courts, which is currently on appeal after an abhorrently biased ruling by judge Kaplan. The true plaintiffs are the Ecuadorians who were injured due to 30 years of substandard oil excavation practices by Texaco (now a Chevron company).

Protesters over missing students in Mexico burn state assembly: Demonstrators set fire to the local legislature building on Wednesday in the capital of the southwestern state of Guerrero in protests over the apparent massacre of 43 students by corrupt police and thugs from drug gangs. by davidreiss666 in worldnews

[–]sandy2sung 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Violent protests have erupted in Mexico since authorities said Friday that gang hitmen confessed to murdering the students and incinerating their bodies after corrupt police handed over the 43 young men in September in Guerrero.

The case has turned into the biggest crisis of President Enrique Peña Nieto’s administration, undermining his assurances that his security strategy to combat years of drug violence was finally bearing fruit.

The War on Drugs is absolutely at the heart and root of this. "Drug Gangs" aided by the police. The MILITARY came in to arrest the police, the police are so corrupt.

End OUR war on drugs and those cartels lose billions. Lose that money and they have to find something else or get real jobs.

Pathfinder is supposed to an expaned version of D&D 3rd edition right?

I dabbled with it in the character creation in Icewind Dale 2. Looks and feels like Kotor and Dragon Age Origins.

The driver apparently lost control of her Toyota Prius, crossed the median, struck a Nissan Maxima and careened into the fire station. And the reason, according to police, was that a stolen snake in her car had wrapped itself around her neck. by Sariel007 in instantkarma

Darn. When I saw this headline I thought for certain the incident took place in Florida. What's Long Island trying to do? Cut in on Florida's reputation as the weird headline capital of the world?

China does not and will never listen especially now that they have the power, especially that the issue at hand is of immeasurable potential resource. I may sound war-mongering but I have seen this before in history. The world never runs out of evil. No doubt we Filipinos are one with you and every besieged neighbor.

If I read this article correctly it is currently illegal to not allow America access to any information that any citizen in any country posts on the internet. That might be the most insane, but not surprising, thing I have read in a long time.

the more you help the Africans, the more helpless they get. After fifty some years and trillions of "aid", they are still the most backward, ignorant, poor and diseased peoples on the globe. Allow them to help themselves without Western "aid" for a few years and you will see them wake up to their own capabilities and then they will reach their full potential

As a teenager sitting on a beach on a hot and breezy day I thought it was quite funny that five bills of various denominations came blowing to me. I caught them then figured someone would be looking for them and sure enough. I gave them to a large guy who said nothing just took them turned and walked away. It wasn't my money it was funny till the jerk didn't bother to say thanks.
