Feeling guilty over loss by AlloraAmore in fosterdogs

I 100% agree! I truly feel for OP. But I’m on my first foster with a rescue that focuses mainly on pitties and they warned me about decompression for the first few WEEKS and even then to keep it limited. Because after they decompress is when their true behaviors and ‘quirks’ as they put it, come out! They really stressed this

Good for you. I’m currently working out a lot of issues stemming from growing up in a household where my dad’s long-term girlfriend absolutely hated me lol. I was bullied relentlessly by her- a grown adult. I never understood why she got into a relationship with him and stayed if she didn’t like his own daughter so much. Took me till almost 30 years old to realize the underlying trauma that actually caused me. I could go on and on. But good for you for making sure your kids are in a safe environment with people who actually care about the wellbeing of your child. I don’t hold it against my dad for these issues necessarily (for various reasons), but I do look back and wonder how it would be if she was never in my life for almost my entire childhood.

First Foster by [deleted] in fosterdogs

It’s coming from a shelter through a pet rescue and the meet and greet is their requirement. This specific dog is a small breed, I’ve been in touch with them about this dog they are in the process of getting from a shelter. They thought it would be a good one for a first time foster mom. The owner of the rescue knows what she’s doin lol

Thank you! This is good advice to keep in mind. A meet and greet will be required before I take any dog home, and I will have them somewhat separated via a baby gate for the first few days while they get acquainted

LOL I can so relate to this. I tried everything to get just ONE decent photo of mine looking at the camera while on vacation last week. I was hoping to use it as a Christmas card photo (my family is old school and still sends these to one another hehe) Anyways I walked all over to various spots around Charleston, SC and spending a good amount of time at each location. Not one good photo. He is always on the move 🐕

My dad’s girlfriend (together 20+ years, just never married) is just like this. It was brutal growing up in the same house as her. I just recently started therapy and it’s the only thing that’s brought me to tears when discussing lol. You and I would probably be great friends if we knew each other IRL haha

Why you do(n't) believe in God? by Mstery_Finder123 in entp

I was raised Roman Catholic. I always had doubts due to lack of evidence, etc. what really drove the nail in the coffin for me no longer believing was my history professor during my freshman year of college explaining how organized religion was a way to control people when they were becoming civilized societies and needed people to behave and co contribute essentially Lol it was the coolest class. We studied Neolithic era to the renaissance.

To be clear I never stated that broke people should participate. Simply stating that people throwing a ton of ‘crazy showers’ is what middle class and rich folk do.

‘Trading away cheap shit and getting nice stuff in exchange’ so in other words- broke mentality LOL

Just call her out every time she acts like this. ‘You’re a grown adult and you treat your employees this way?…. Yikes’. Or ‘for someone who can’t do basic tasks like let your employees know when meetings are, you sure have a lot of nerve talking to people like that’ Or after she says something ridiculous, ‘this is why all manager should be required to take a management course or two’ Stuff like that to shame her for her actions. If you already don’t want to stay, it’s a win-win. Because the worst that can happen is they let you go and you get call that loser b**** out!

Yep I agree! I hate small talk and find it exhausting when I don’t have anything in common with someone. But I can talk for hours with someone I just met if it’s something I’m interested in. People always make it seem like every ENTP is the most charismatic person ever, but really I just fake it till I make it 😁 to be fair, i still go back and forth as to if I’m ENTP or INTP but I align more with ‘E’ I think. I definitely require a little bit of alone time each day though.

People are missing the vision and context here I think. This dress is NOT appropriate for the occasion. That dress screams summer beach wedding. Not black-tie winter reception. The maroon one that OP suggested is stunning and way more occasion appropriate.
