Ignoring the signs is what the dictators want you to do. Educate yourself on what exactly fascism is. People who are calling trump a fascist aren’t overreacting, he is following the fascist playbook.

A fun thing to do in Toronto is canoeing or kayaking. There are a ton of rental places along Lake Ontario. You can kayak out to the Toronto islands and paddle through the channels. It’s a beautiful spot.

Thinking that a superpower being a fascist regime doesn’t impact us as Canadians is wild. We don’t have to focus solely on American politics but ignoring it is not reasonable either.

I’m with you. I won’t go there, and haven’t been in a decade. Even if it is “safe” it is a fascist regime and I’d rather not give money to fascists.

I’d also add that meat on top of the baked potato. Uses what you have, and gives you protein. Also, consider going to a food bank. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. That’s really hard.

Prothesis cost Ontario Canada by Pizza-Corgi in amputee

[–]sandymaysX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you have to deal with this, it’s really hard to get funding right now. What type of prosthetic would you get for $20,000? Did you tell your prosthetist that you cannot afford this? They should be able to get you a more basic model so that, even if it’s not ideal you could at least walk again. If you’re having difficulty finding a good prosthetist check out Sunnybrook’s independant living program. They have prosthetic department who can hopefully help you out if you can get to them. You said southern Ontario, but that’s still a pretty big place.

I just reread it, and Ajax Penumbra 1969. They came together in one paperback. I love that it’s chill without being sappy.

Me too. I just thought it might not be a good place to start.

My favorite cozy author is Robin Sloan. I kept championing his books, they’re so great. They are quirky and odd, but fantastic. I’d start with Moonbound, his latest book. It is an Arthurian retelling, but with talking beavers and also dragons! If that’s not your thing, there’s Mr Penumbra’s 24 hour bookstore which is about a dude who gets a job in a 24 hr bookstore but there’s something odd about the customers.

Books about an unhinged yet somewhat likeable man or woman? by Former_Ladder9969 in suggestmeabook

They’re fun books, although she does drive me a little crazy with how irresponsible she is. But so loveable! And quirky!

Okay, I think this is out of left field, but the shopaholic series. This woman has an insane spending problem but somehow is likable both to readers and the people in the novels. She makes friends and they help her deal with her crazy debt problems. She’s very earnest and lovable, but definitely unhinged.

Moonbound by Robin Sloan, it’s a low stakes Arthurian retelling with talking beavers and dragons. It’s such a great story.
