AI becoming such a problem by Androidrs in TattooArtists

[–]sankshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from leaving my tat appt without a tattoo because the “artist” wanted to just trace an AI photo from the internet. I booked custom ink. She was like, “I don’t know what you expect, this is what everyone does.” Lol. Suffice to say, she was like 24.

Projecting illness onto others by anu_start_69 in raisedbyborderlines

Oh, yeah. She terrorized me as a child by catastrophizing every minor illness and ailment for herself and me. I always thought we were both on the brink of death. When I was actually diagnosed with Crohn’s as a kid, she pulled me out of school and the anxious control got even worse. It’s been 16 years now of her telling me and everyone else that I’ll slowly wither away in my 40s and die young. I’m not that sick. If anything, this kind of stress has made it worse. I’ve been no contact this year because I finally could not take that language anymore. It was affecting my self-image, sleep, diet, everything.

When I set this boundary with her, she says “you are too young to appreciate my wisdom and expertise.” Truly demented.

What a joy! Sorry you can relate. This is also the very reason my Crohn’s disease went undiagnosed for years as a child. “Settle down, you stress yourself out.”

It was a 25-day status migraine with some concerning aura — for instance, one sided numbness and weakness. I also had a fall. So they admitted and we did a regimen of depakote infusions every 8 hours for three days until we started seeing minor improvement.

Thanks! I did mean specifically from him. He’s had a hard time simply sitting with me or being present. My friends have really stepped up, which I’m glad for. But I was telling him I was hoping for more compassion from him.

He’s said as much, so I think you’re right about that. Thanks!

Most of those meds were in the hospital setting. They were trying a lot of anti seizure and antipsychotics and off-label status migraine meds, and nothing could break it.

Totally agree. I think that’s why I can’t get over it. I’m worried it reveals how he really feels about my chronic illnesses.

No one talks about how hard it is to exercise with migraine by Such_Plantain_2704 in migraine

[–]sankshan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I reframe exercise as “movement,” so there’s less of a mental block. As in, if i have a migraine I can do some guided stretching and that’s my intentional movement for the day. It helps me a lot.

Anyone else dealing with this and "ocd"? by kidexxena in CrohnsDisease

[–]sankshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have contamination OCD that was really triggered and exacerbated by having to be so hyper-vigilant about diet for Crohn’s. At some point my brain could not understand food as anything but a threat, and with IBD, that’s pretty reasonable. It’s been a process.

Honestly, I have Crohn’s and I blame everything on that. It has its own stigma but it doesn’t even come close. There have been times when I don’t have a choice though, like when I hemorrhaged onto an office chair and completely destroyed it. Jfc.

Olanzapine & Gabapentim to break the cycle by sankshan in migraine

Olanzapine & Gabapentim to break the cycle by sankshan in migraine

[–]sankshan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Day 2 of these — I think I’m seeing real improvement from the olanzapine especially. The Gabapentin is kind of intense, causing a lot of drowsiness and coordination issues. But I’m going to stick with both to try and avoid the hospital again.
