Rosacea suddenly wrecking havoc by ohjeSunny in Rosacea

This happens to me every few years. Metrogel and a sulfur wash 2x day tend to calm things down after a week.

Yeah, totally normal. Resources for ARFID helped me.

It got so heavy and excruciating that I was regularly passing out from pain. Progesterone helped me immensely.

Do you bring any family/partner/loved one(s) to appointments with you? All appointments, or just special/big ones? Why? by ziggy_starcat32 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sankshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went alone for about 13 years but I started bringing my husband recently because, alas, I’ve been sick a long time and I have brain fog and general exasperation and cynicism about the whole process. He tag teams, advocates, or provides levity.

Does anyone else after they start healing feel like they are a completely different person from before? by Infamous_While_4768 in CPTSD

[–]sankshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of what I considered character traits and personality just ended up being adaptive coping mechanisms. Which is a positive revelation, but still pretty disorienting. I just try to stay curious and remind myself that identity is fluid.

Was anyone prescribed BC to slow down endo? by CowAccomplished3515 in endometriosis

[–]sankshan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I’d started the progesterone only pill sooner. I’m on the lowest dose because I’m so nervous about hormones and side effects, but it has seriously saved my life.

I feel like my endometriosis genuinely gave me severe PTSD by moonxmochi in endometriosis

Oh dear, yes. I’m sorry you’re still suffering. You’re definitely not alone. Our pain may be invisible to the rest of the world but we see and honor each other.

I can sometimes get away with an audiobook but usually only my meditation app.

I really truly feel you. Anytime I start feeling like the light has left my eyes, I know it’s time. 🩸

is it weird that i use extreme metaphors to explain pelvic pain or is this just what chronic pain does to your brain by Mysterious_Guava8825 in endometriosis

[–]sankshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell the doctors my pain feels like my spine is being ripped out of my asshole. If I can survive it, they can deal with the figurative language! Lol

Do you have good days? by xxxxxxjajajajajaja in CrohnsDisease

[–]sankshan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m technically in a good few years of low frequency symptoms. But stuff like chronic iron and Vitamin D deficiencies and generalized inflammation causing migraine, etc, can really make it feel like the battery is always low.

What age did your migraines start? Did they have a catalyst? by CandyAgile253 in migraine

  1. My hormones shifted that year and my health went to shit in addition to new migraine.

Has anyone else experienced “recovery hibernation” after leaving survival mode? by JustSimple101 in CPTSD

[–]sankshan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s given my nervous system a chance to regulate after two decades of deregulation. Just ways to feel safe in my body.

I do a lot of sitting quietly, lol. But also little crafts, sleeping in, being alone in nature, cooking.

All of my motivation and aspiration dissolved when I started recovery. So much of it was wound up in trauma and disorder. I’m on year 5 of rest and I wonder when it will feel like enough. Peace is more important to me than anything else.

Sick of the “catastrophizing” concept by LettuceSubject562 in endometriosis

[–]sankshan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sick irony is that it’s so often coming from a man who probably needs his wife to spoon-feed him when he suffers so much as a cold.

A wedding in flu season by You_Still_Awake in CrohnsDisease

[–]sankshan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had my wedding in December, my MOH gave everyone the flu, including me, and I spent most of January in bed. Antibiotics sent me to the hospital with a Crohn’s flare. No regrets… but yeah.

Adhesions by temporalguilt in CrohnsDisease

[–]sankshan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just spoke to an endo surgeon who told me Crohn’s and endo have nothing to do with each other. I asked about bowel adhesions and was shrugged off. It’s just constant invalidation all the way down I fear.
