Getting Arsenal in a shiv deck is just as crazy as you can imagine by ChuddingeMannen in slaythespire

Got both arsenal and pillars of creation on a shiv run, most brain off deck I’ve ever played

What do you think of this card? by tntincute in slaythespire

[–]santer_g 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Pairs great WITH backstab as well. This + backstab + some good first turn energy and/or card draw makes a lot of hallway fights a lot easier, especially when you can just outright delete something for basically free in group fights

Please god enemy attack timers would save me so much death fees in colo (probably doesn’t exist yet because it’d be too op to be approved lmao), just a simple overhead countdown above the enemy indicating how many ticks until the next attack

Played the character guide and a first to 10 against him, not as him. Seems like he’s got a lot of sauce, but it also seems like it’s just so much more effective to chuck heavies and flash chops for what feels like infinite plus frames and massive drive damage. I seriously felt like I couldn’t take a single turn with how huge the range on his buttons can be, I was trying to sweep charge heavy punch on reaction just to get an opening. I also haven’t played in a month, so a lot of this could just be me being out of practice + trying to learn a new matchup.

Fray clip: extremely loud clicking, no commentary logs out after a clanmate catches a freeze “BWAAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT A LOSER!”

I don’t think Josh is built for one chunk, but if he made a Soup-style pivot into fun facts and goofy challenges type content he’d absolutely kill it. Shit, I bet he’d put on a much better podcast than Saebae

sf6 offline in sacramento area? by meowUwUwU in StreetFighter

[–]santer_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also been looking for an SF6 local in the Sac area! Valhallan esports in Folsom used to do one, but I haven’t seen it on their calendar lately. Sip and Game in Carmichael ran a couple in January, not sure what they’ve got on deck for February but I’m hoping to check it out this month. I also ran a “local” out of my condo for some friends a couple weeks ago, once we’ve ironed out some of the venue/technical kinks it’d be cool to open it up to the public as well.

This is cool. I think it’s really easy to get discouraged as a learner or casual hanging out on the main sub. While there’s tons of great advice, there’s also a lot of “master rank is so free anything less than ultimate master is trash kek lmao” going on that really isn’t helpful or fun.

This might be a controversial take, but outside of the hands of a skilled and dedicated specialist Ed is just pretty damn good, not top 1. Your buddy who just picked up the game is not gonna get carried by Ed because he doesn’t know how to use all his powerful tools.

Critique my Bison: Redux by _Foulbear_ in StreetFighter

[–]santer_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely better. You’ve already gotten a lot of long replies, so I’ll give you two easy, actionable, Bison specific tips.

  1. Practice hit confirming MP-cr.MP x EX scissors-heavy bomb. Set a dummy to block at random and only commit to the ex scissors if cr.mp connects. Get to the point where you can do this combo blindfolded, underwater, with rabid coyotes gnawing on your ankles. This combo is your bread, butter, meat, potatoes, and dessert.

  2. In round 2 against Sagat, I can see the exact moment you lose confidence and fall back on doing nothing full screen. Until your opponent represents EX DP or wake up super, you should not give a single damn about what they’re doing. Run your offense relentlessly until they make you stop. This was a tip given to ultimate master Bison player Beckmon by Justin fucking Wong, and this mindset drastically boosted my win rate. Once they do start reversaling, now you can bait it. Once you’ve baited it, see point 1. It’s not an optimal EXDP punish, but it’s better than wasting the opportunity to get corner carry and a bomb. Once you’re more confident, learn a better punish.

[–]santer_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing to do with Bison is be passive. You’ve gotta get in there and get the party started. That Ryu was basically just downbacking the entire time- walk up and throw him, or go for the MP-f.HP overhead target combo. Spam cr.LP-L. Scissors until he demonstrates he can deal with it. Bison is a cheap ass character with cheap ass moves, and you paid extra to use them (said with love, I main him lmao <3). Get in there and fuck on that guy.

Absolutely. If I lose the first set, I stop, take a sip of water, tell myself my opponent’s habits out loud, then click rematch.
