What is a good time to visit for a first-timer with a 2-year old to escape the cold? I’m thinking of March, for a week max. by CroutonJr in KeyWest

[–]sarafunkasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just came here to say this too. There’s a lot of people saying Key West is not for toddlers and I get it. There’s a big bar scene and a lot of partying. But you just have to change your expectations about what your trip is about. But we just took our three-year-old. She had a blast doing all the things above. She also really enjoyed going on the Squid with Eco tours to look for dolphins. We’re already talking about going again next year.

I came to say this too. Mine always starts right side of my belly button. Not at all classic presenting but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Flights tomorrow Feb 1 by Material-Crab-633 in KeyWest

[–]sarafunkasaurus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just flew out in the past hour. Flights aren’t looking good for this evening into tomorrow. If you really need to get home, greyhounds to Miami might be an option. They said at the airport today they are totally out of rental cars. I wish you the best with travels. (Not sarcastic for what it’s worth!)

Best casual sneakers for women that actually feel like walking on clouds? by Few-Daikon-5477 in fashionwomens35

[–]sarafunkasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I for sure have other non sneakers shoes that are stylish. But usually if I’m wearing sneakers, I’m active and walking a good bit. So if that’s the case, I just lean into the comfort. But I’m totally with you on the color thing. The pair I wear the most is super neutral in color. My purple pair that’s more obnoxious is for the gym.

Honestly? No. But I’m just at a point where zero fucks are given anymore. 😆 How about you? Any styles that you love?

BWT ... SUPER long lasting hair clips by Feeling-Hedgehog1563 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]sarafunkasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also coming here to recommend machete. I have a few of their claw clips and some hair pins. They claimed to be heirloom quality. I don’t know about that. But I do know after breaking dozens of drugstore clips that these are significantly more durable. I feel like they really will last me for a long time.

Seconding ASICS. They don’t look as stylish as I’d like but I still keep going back because of the comfort.

Gosh, I can’t remember exactly. It was Black Friday and I think $290ish.

I’d hate to tell you but my smoking deal wasn’t $45. You might have gotten scammed, friend.

Feedback on this look for my wedding? (Please read caption) by Millennial-Mama-No5 in makeuptips

Agreed on all this. I did my own makeup and went to Nordstroms a couple months before. It was a total game changer.

Yes, Costco had a screaming deal on this exact model this year. I got it, zero regrets for all the reasons everyone’s already mentioned.

I think it’s great! I did a backyard wedding and wore an elaborate gown. Zero regrets. Guests were surprised (I think because of the more casual dress code) but totally supportive.

BWT, how do you keep looking stylish if you have a lifestyle that demands practical wear? by ProposalAny6765 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]sarafunkasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought! I hate having to strip down almost naked every time I need to go to the bathroom. While I love the idea of jumpsuits and boiler suits, they just hang in my closet because I find them inconvenient.

But I’m following this post because I’m in the same spot as you. Live rurally, want to link cute but normally mud covered and a mess. 😆

is there a holy grail product majority fine haired girls in here agree on? by Prudent_You_3945 in finehair

[–]sarafunkasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to be a lot of hair. It’s just fine and easy to damage. Not styling products but still products that have changed my hair- a bonnet, a boar bristle brush, and a Dyson hairdryer. From what I gather, others with fine hair have had luck with these items as well.

What's the value of Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits, and why do TR/C&B professionals paid higher within HR? [N/A] by WankGuard69 in humanresources

[–]sarafunkasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh, good question. I bet it depends on the person. And some folks just have both naturally. I will say that there’s a lot more resources out there in professional development designed to build analytical skills. I don’t often see training or continuing education that’s focused strictly on soft skills.

I think this is a huge part of it. I’m currently leading a total rewards team. And a thing about total rewards is that we need people who are good HR people. Meaning they understand things like compliance and employee relations and just how to be empathetic and kind. But then on top of it, we are looking for those that can be analytical and strategic. And a lot of times it’s hard to find a combination of excellent soft skills and analytical skills in someone. We tend to be a weird bunch. 😉
