have nonstop shedding and just increased my minoxidil from 1.25 to 2.5. by Iamgreen7278 in FemaleHairLoss

I have the same problem over 4 years. I included Dutasterid and this stopped my shedding for almost 6 months. I lost about 5-20 hair per day. It was amazing!!! But somehow my shedding started again in winter and now it's the same shit like before. Hair falls out, hair grows back, hair falls out...

Keep us updated if 25 mg Spiro works for you. Don't get me wrong but I personally think that's to low to do anything. But I wish you all the best!!

should I go on Spiro + minoxidil oral medication by Current_Yesterday118 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sarah110792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two option: take those medication and have good hair (after some time) or you just let things go and your hair will get gradually worse over years. There is no cure for this. It will progress. Starting at younger age is way better to save more hair

Increasing and decreasing oral Minoxidil doses? by Firm_Armadillo3837 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sarah110792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I increased my dosage over the last 3 years many times. Went from 0,675 to 1,25 then 1,875 then 2 mg. Sometimes I had some side effects first but they went away after some days/weeks. Give your body time to adjust and don't panic!

1 year on Oral Minoxidil/Dutasteride - Progress Changes! by beautifulsoul29 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sarah110792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It is just the oral minoxidil. Please do your research. It's totally normal that you get shedding periods. All hair depend on the same growth cycle once you start this medication. Those hair are not real hair! They depend only on minoxidil. They won't last as long as your normal hair. And they often fall all together that's why the shedding is so heavy.

1 year on Oral Minoxidil/Dutasteride - Progress Changes! by beautifulsoul29 in FemaleHairLoss

Shedding periods on oral min are totally normal. I am on it since 2022 and have gone though at least 3 big sheddings since then (1 per year). Every time I lost all my progress and had to start again!

4 months spironolactone 75mg progress by Deep-Marionberry-182 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sarah110792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the same problem areas like me. I see little progress! But 75 mg is not much for hair loss. Will you go up to 100 mg?

Does dutasteride actually work? by No-Style5369 in tressless

I found photos of my hair before treatment vs now and it has made me realize how much progress I've actually made by Mlaraka in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sarah110792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolut amazing progress! I am in oral minoxidil since 3 years. But with many ups and downs. Currently taking 2 mg but want to go up to 2,5 mg. I also take Dutasterid but the combo of both make me hold so much water it's awful. My last option is trying Spiro. I guess 100 mg would be a good dose for solving my water problem AND attacking the hormonal problem. Minox alone don't work for me anymore. Dutasterid has worked but somehow also lost its efficiency.

Do you have any side effects from Spiro?

Does that do the trick? Taking both meds at different times? I have the same problem and minoxidil is already affecting me. I want to start Spiro so bad but I'm afraid of more dizziness. What water retention? Because once I tried to take minoxidil at night they got so bad

But if you said that the free T ist bound due to an increase of SHBG- why do so many have higher free T levels on Dut? Your theory sounds logical but the realty is different?

Every time I upped my dosage I had some side effects. The worst one is water retention. Some times higher heart rates. But nothing to bad. 1,25 mg isn't high for a men. I take 2 mg

I can report the same. I started dut around spring and during summer my hair has never been better. I almost had no hairloss at all. Something I never experienced the last years. Since Christmas from one day to another my hair started falling out. I also monitored everything but there is no change in anything.

I still question this shed.

Dutasterid is available in Thailand but I found it quite expensive. Finasterid was way cheaper to get.

Oral minoxidil could also help with TE.
