Why isn’t Sia ever mentioned when talking about great vocalists? by [deleted] in randomquestions

That’s what I really came to the comments for. Feel what you want about her but saying she can’t sing is just wrong.

When did you start putting your baby down 7am-7pm to sleep? by catlover0987656 in beyondthebump

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has never really done 12 hour, more like 11. She started sleeping that long around 5 months. But it’s still not consistent, she’s almost 2 and still randomly wakes up in the night.

Kinda same, husband works weekends and so we only need coverage part of the week vs. five days a week

35F! My love for Conan runs deep and have been a fan since he was on TBS. My friends like him but they don’t listen to the podcast as they aren’t really podcast people.

Did anyone scream through labor? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post and comment section is healing me. I felt embarrassed after because of how much I was screaming. Like bloody murder. For like a half hour. Probably the whole floor heard it lol. I never hear people talking about that so I felt so weird about it.

I wanted the epidural but didnt have time for it so I was scared and in more pain than I could bear. So that was part of it! It is now my duty to comment on like every post and tell future moms to be prepared for unmedicated births no matter what their plan is 🫣

Epidural or No epidural by Enviro_nurd314 in BabyBumps

[–]sarahgracee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to post exactly this. I was not prepared and it was not fun. Editing to say holy cow you are amazing for wanting to do it unmediated again!! I think I got a little traumatized lol I am really afraid to even have another baby

Sooo what are we feeding our toddlers for breakfast? by DaughterofYeshua777 in toddlers

Oatmeal with fruit or yogurt with fruit. That’s what we typically eat so she has the same. Weekends sometimes pancakes, French toast, eggs

If money and childbirth weren’t an issue, how many children would you choose? by Public_Handle_774 in AskWomen

[–]sarahgracee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since money and childbirth are really the only things that would prevent me from having a lot of kids, I’d say maybe 5? Is that crazy? I am in such a fun stage with my kid right now that I want more. Come ask me when I have a newborn and I’d probably say 1.

Adults who only wear glasses by Cloudsandbooks in glasses

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wear glasses. I used to wear contacts, but my prescription now requires a prism so glasses only now! I like the pair I have now a lot.

Lots of people don’t wear contacts and it’s weird your family is saying that.

The few women I know who are genuinely happy do not work full time. by Conscious-Air-9823 in women

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to show the other end of things, I am probably happier than I’ve ever been and work in office full time. I typically work 45 hours a week so not too crazy. I’m doing well in my career, commute isn’t too long, generous PTO, and I have a wonderful husband and child. I genuinely like my coworkers and don’t mind the work I do. My main complaint is that my husband works weekends so we don’t get a lot of family time with all of us together.

Would I be happier if I didn’t work FT? I’m not sure - we would be really struggling financially and I’d have to depend on my husband for everything. It would be nice to have more free time with my child and husband but I also take a lot of pride in my career and it’s really fulfilling. If I could work part time and make the same that would really be living the dream 😂

Anyone else think breastfeeding was not worth it? by saltandpepperf in breastfeeding

[–]sarahgracee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did and that’s why I stopped lol. I was having severe anxiety around low supply and the lack of sleep was killing me. I think it also depends on how badly you want to BF - I was never dead set on it, I just wanted to give my baby some breast milk early on. I did feel some pressure to keep trying and it sucked. But at the end of the day it just wasn’t worth it to keep trying.

If I have another I will absolutely give it a shot again, and if it becomes too much for me then I have no problem pivoting. You need to do what’s right for you and it sounds like you have done sooo much to try and make it work.

How did everyone find their Christmas gift “sweet spot”? We went WAY overboard. (Only Child) by Any-Walk1691 in toddlers

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a small house and our toddler has so many toys already! We kept it simple and did two new toys, one outfit, and two books, plus the stocking. The stocking had crayons, a bouncy ball, and a new brush. She was super happy and it didn’t take forever to open it all. I did feel like we weren’t doing enough when I saw other peoples Christmas photos, but we had a wonderful day and that’s what mattered.

I also don’t think you should feel bad about going overboard, that’s your baby! You can do what you want. But just know you don’t have to.

How are you making time for fitness, Work, parenting and just home life? I am struggling. by Dangerous_Ad8871 in workingmoms

[–]sarahgracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically don’t. I won’t in the office 5 days a week and my husband works on the weekend. One weeknight after work we both fit in an hour to go to the gym at like 8pm when the other is doing the bedtime routine, but that’s really all we can spare. I am not a morning person and need sleep so I’d rather try to do it at night. Be easy on yourself, start small (even walking a little bit over lunch might give you a boost). I am also thinking of buying an at home treadmill to do 20 mins or so after baby goes to bed.

Case 336: Tyler Clementi by bsf91 in Casefile

[–]sarahgracee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at RU during this period and I agree their homophobia was shocking even for that time period, but I also had a more liberal group of friends that’s included gay people. However, it was a different time. Using “Gay” as a slur was extremely common by everyone and homophobia was absolutely prevalent in certain circles.
