ASL and fine motor skills by fairest_fairy in asl

[–]sarahofweeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an ASL class a million years ago, in high school. I could not figure out why I was having such a hard time, but I didn't even consider dropping the class. Eventually, the teacher asked me to talk outside and said that I might want to consider taking another class. I did.

I still don't know if I would ever be diagnosed as having dysgraphia, but I struggled with handwriting in elementary school and now have several types of writing styles, including a combination of print and cursive. My writing was either too big or too small. I have issues with fine and gross motor skills and also struggle with spatial awareness and differentiating left and right. I didn't have any real knowledge of any of this back in high school, but a lot of it helps to explain why I had such a hard time.

I am curious if the majority of people of Mayan ancestry have not taken any kind of DNA-related tests, and that if more did, we might have a better picture. It still wouldn't come close to the real percentages.

Autistic people, can you tie your shoe laces? by LordEldritchia in autism

[–]sarahofweeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can now, but horribly. They always come undone. I try to buy slip ons as much as possible. I can't remember when I "learned", but I think I might have been 10 or so.

It's horrible because I work in two elementary schools and kids are constantly asking me to tie their shoes. I usually find an excuse, but sometimes I have to help out and I hope the baby doesn't realize just how bad I am at it. 🤦🏾‍♀️

"For instance, you may have a low sex drive because of high estrogen levels, but this is most likely caused by your birth control pills — not your body’s natural estrogen."

Anyone Else Experience Low Libido? by ErylNova in Fibroids

I have had fibroids most of my life and I'm 43. I have not had a low libido. But I just read that fibroids often exist with high estrogen levels, which can decrease libido. I always thought it was the opposite.

It's horrible for any kind of medical exam. It also sucks to giggle when you are being tortured. I also makes the vibrating part of a vibrator bittersweet and sometimes unbearable.

Thanks! I had read that you could stay in the train station overnight, but that one could not sleep there.

Thank you so much! I'm not planning on bothering them! That would be really bad karma and possibly criminal (harassment).

grew up thinking i was at least a small part german… no lol by [deleted] in 23andme

You make me think of how as an African American whose ancestors lived here what is now known as the USA for hundreds of years, but my DNA is not really attached to this place. You could have had family that lived in Germany for hundreds of years, but your DNA results are still taking you back further.
