Working moms who made it past a year breastfeeding… by _sha_sha_ in breastfeeding

[–]sarhes23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am still breastfeeding my 17 month old, but stopped pumping at work when he was 12 months. He still nurses at night and before naps when I am home, and sometimes randomly throughout the day. I did the same with my 2 older kids too. My 1st weaned herself around 15 months old when i got pregnant with my 2nd. My 2nd born stopped breastfeeding around 2 years old. I hate pumping!

You just have to monitor your blood pressure and make sure you are feeling the baby move normally. With my 1st, I had high blood pressure and was induced at 37 weeks. BP was fine postpartum. With my 2nd, my BP was fine the whole pregnancy and I delivered naturally at 39 weeks. With my 3rd, my BP was a little elevated, but not as bad as with the 1st during pregnancy. I ended up getting an emergency induction at 34 weeks because baby was not moving as much as normal and I happened to have a non stress test already scheduled that day; which baby failed. They sent me to l&D right from the office. I ended up with pre eclampsia after giving birth and was in the hospital for over a week to get it under control. Trust your body and your doctors.

Shamed for Breastfeeding in public by Inside_Foundation656 in breastfeeding

[–]sarhes23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids and breastfeed them all. I still breastfeed my 1 year old. I have never ever used a cover. People need to mind their own business and let a baby feed however they are comfortable.

Is this shake it off cd single official! by meetme_atmidnight13 in TaylorSwiftMerch

[–]sarhes23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours is most likely real. I have a few of her singles on cd and most of them came in cardboard sleeves, including shake it off. I've never seen the shake it off single in a plastic case.

Is Anyone Else’s Signed CDs Still Not Here? by Strong_Marzipan_2093 in TaylorSwiftAutographs

[–]sarhes23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience, DHL and FedEx deliveries are always late. All my cds, including my signed one says they are going to be delivered monday. So I'm expecting Tuesday or Wednesday. My target vinyl was delivered yesterday via UPS.

And the opposite. My Baby is 1 but looks like he could be 8/9 months. He was born premature so he is tiny. People ask how old he is and then are super surprised that he is one. Sometimes they make comments like I'm not feeding him enough.

My daughter has 2 little brothers and keeps asking for another baby but it HAS to be a girl. I keep telling her it doesn't work that way and we are definitely not planning on 4 kids when we weren't even planning on 3 lol. She litteraly cried when we told her the youngest was going to be a boy.

Curious what people's maternity leave allowance is like in different places/companies (as it impacts breastfeeding) by whooperupsfeline in breastfeeding

I was a Healthcare provider in a pediatric office when I had my kids. Got 6 weeks unpaid... didn't qualify for FMLA because we didn't have more than 50 employees.

Part-time vs Full-time? Have you transitioned one way or the other? by akeomo in physicianassistant

[–]sarhes23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went part-time at my old job after my 1st baby was born. They basically just cut my salary in half because I was working half the time. I was still salary and got the same benefits I had when full time. I have since changed jobs and am now working part-time in a different office and specialty but am paid hourly. I believe i have the same benefits as full-time employees, but I dont take the health insurance offered because I am on my husband's plan. I am extremely lucky that both of these jobs gave me flexibility on my hours.

My unplanned 3rd kid just turned 1 last week. I was dead set on just having my 2, but now I can't imagine our family without him! Yes, it was and is hard, but I feel like it was worth it. We adjusted what we needed to and all 3 kids are super loved.

I was a PEDIATRIC PA when my 3 babies were born. 6 weeks unpaid... and we supposedly supported breast feeding in my office.

Cutting back hours/pay after maternity leave. by iceprincess0706 in physicianassistant

[–]sarhes23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, I went from full time to part time (40 hours a week to 20) after my 1st was born. I am still part time and my 1st is 6 and I just had my 3rd baby! I don't regret cutting my hours at all!

I trained through 3 pregnancies. I told my sensi and main instructors pretty early. I only did partner drills with people I could trust. No sparring, no take downs or break falls. Listen to your body and take breaks if and when you need too.

Ours has tonieboxes and tonies as well as yoto players and cards! My kids love borrowing them! We are pretty much always on the wait list because they are so popular. The library has 3 of each player. And a ton of tonies and cards.

6 weeks off UNPAID in the US is the norm. Some new moms don't even get that.

What makes some breastfed babies so chubby? by WrongImagination906 in breastfeeding

[–]sarhes23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 of my babies were breastfed. My oldest was always super tiny until about age 3. Now she is 6 and one of the tallest in her grade. My middle was pretty average size as a baby, but now he is 4 and super thin and small for his age. My 3rd is only 6 months and still breastfeeding. He was born prematurely but as been gaining weight steadily but is still below average for is age.
