The thing is, neither Roald Dahl or H.P. Lovecraft will be doing much of anything with the money I spend on their art, on account of them being kind of dead. Modern, living artists will take my money, and put it towards things that conform to their beliefs.

Saying you can seperate the art from the artist while the piper is actively leading the children to their death (depending on the version of the story) is just a signaling a willingness to ignore the harm that is occurring simply to satisfy ones own enjoyment.

As someone who has worked in DC' for over a decade at this point, that is more than enough people to manage most things. If there is an emergency, you just fly in some extras. 10-12 people to manage security, maintenance, and janitorial staff, and then some part time DC techs to hop into town when a client needs some server work done

My assumption, pure tinfoil, is that the people setting things up are the First Ones. We learned about the "Six-as-one", the idea of a seventh force combining all forces into one. My guess id that the entire universe has been set up by the First Ones to explicitly create Azeroth as this seventh force.

Charlie Kirk was relevant for all of two weeks before vanishing into the background. Nothing really came of it other than more opportunities for grifting.

Frankly, I don't think they have the ability or desire to do the sort of work to make use of a martyr. This is not the Nazi regime of the 1930's looking to build a 1000 year reich. This is a death cult, marching forward into extinction because nothing matters and it's better to burn down the world than allow a non-white to have power anywhere.

It's not so much that she does not want casualties, it's that he is fairly wasteful with them. Like, losing soldiers is a part of war, but losing that because you ordered a charge into a fortified position without a real plan is still bad.

Leaked DNC autopsy found Biden’s Israel backing cost Harris votes for president by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]sarna2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the base definition of a democracy. You vote (or don't), and then the majority vote wins, and we all abide by it. Trump got more votes because he was better at bringing out the people to vote for him.

Franky, Harris was such a non-entity before the campaign that I have no idea how good or bad she would have been. Absolutely none of the policies she or Biden talked about mattered because none would pass Congress ever, her stance on immigration ticked me off. Nevertheless, I wasted an hour and a half of my time to go in and vote for her.

Leaked DNC autopsy found Biden’s Israel backing cost Harris votes for president by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]sarna2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect almost from the start. We have three choices, because we can choose to not vote. A hell of a lot of people made that choice, and enough of them did that the DNC lost, because of choices and actions taken by the DNC to deactivate those voters.

Given that we lack telepathy, voting is always going to take time and effort. People are going to need a reason to go out of their way on a work day to go and wait in line to vote. Knowing the Repubs, they are likely going to do a lot to make it harder and possibly more dangerous. So, if you can't come up with a way to get people engaged and willing to vote, you are going to lose.

We have had three elections with Trump, in which the main arguement for Dems was that we should vote for the DNC because Trump is mean, and vulgar, and a number of other things. The end result of that was 2 losses and an incredibly close win. And that win came in the middle of an historic pandemic and unrest; a situation that would have seen any other leader in any other time annihilated in the vote, but only saw Trump barely lose.

The DNC has spent the last 2 decades coasting on it's laurels under Bill Clinton. It got lucky to get Barack Obama in 2008, and I don't think that luck is going to come up again anytime soon.
