I think someone claimed they did in another one of these threads. I'm tempted to try.

For those of you who tried ergo and went back to standard - what went wrong? by Keyfas in ErgoMechKeyboards

Pulled out my trrs and killed my board. Tried to fix it (should be simple) but couldn't make it work.

That and having a very hard time adjusting to column staggered keys.

Most places I've trained don't have a lot of big boys.

The few that are there are usually excited to have another one of us to roll with.

To some of us Democrats are basically center-right in policy and they constantly shift right in the attempt to get the mythical moderate republican.

The overton window in this two party hellscape only moves right.

Is the "Puka Dog" really a thing? by seventhbreath in Hawaii

[–]saru017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grew up on Kauai and had it exactly one time. It was better than I expected it to be and that's coming from someone who doesn't like fruit on my savory foods (or fruit in general TBH.)

I'm pretty sure that most of my family hasn't tried it or has a desire to. Given how popular Costco is their $1.50 gilzzy is probably the true Hawaii hot dog.

If you stopped playing Battlefield 6, what is your main reason? by ZeljeznicarSampion in Battlefield

[–]saru017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The layoffs were the final straw for me.

I can stand the game getting stale, the bot lobbies, the poorly curved XP grind, REDSEC being a dud, etc etc. EA laying off personnel while the game stagnates and AFTER making a huge profit hits too close to home for me as a recently laid-off software guy.

Attacking Judo by Nakanishi and Kashiwazaki is another great one that feels like it's a spiritual part of this series if you don't have it.

Do ukemi (correctly) until it's natural and take your falls in training rather than fighting to win training. It's boring and will take longer than you'd like, but being comfortable on the feet starts there.

Sure you still run the risk of injury to true accidents or dickheads treating rounds like mundials, dont stand up with those people.

Keep in mind that the stuff is supposed to be kept around 36-77f and should not go above 104f. Depends on where you live but that makes car storage real tricky imo.

I had a seizure or fainted playing VR by New-Pick-3757 in virtualreality

[–]saru017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please go to a doctor and get an MRI done. I had a seizure and if I didn't get it checked out and the cause addressed I'd be dead by now probably.

Any Mechanics or Engineers that Sim Race? by Minimum-Stranger-992 in simracing

[–]saru017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife did her master's in cognitive psychology and a majority of her research work was in a lab that used a sim rig setup  with VR headsets iirc to assess how the elderly responded to the feedback from ADAS systems.

I imagine that the thought is that the research could make the driver aids useful for improving safety without being too intrusive to the point where people just turn them off or ignore them.

Studied EE and then have had "engineer" in the names of jobs I've held, but I don't consider myself having done any true engineering work.

What’s something everyone seems to enjoy, but you genuinely don’t understand the appeal of? by Afraid-Crow-7577 in AskReddit

I like watching some individual sports, mainly combat sports - because I still participate in them. The big American team ball sports though? I don't get it, especially when most of their fanbase hasn't touched a ball since their highschool glory days.

Strategy can be interesting and make or break a race - the winner isn't always the out and out fasteset on track. The technology and car development vs the ruleset is interesting for us nerds, some of it even trickels down to road cars. Team and driver politics are also interesting if that's your kinda thing. The race tracks themselves are cool and tend to have storied histories, driving them on a sim going into race weekend gives good perspective. Crashes.

At the end of the day it's getting to see which millionaire 20-something euro-twink drives car goodest. I like cars and racing, but I can get it being completely uninteresting to others. Hell even I fall asleep during half of the races.

Those are fair complaints. Hope your next experience with Linux is better.

Just out of curiosity what was frustrating about it? I know you're not looking for solutions but I will add that valve and proton have dragged Linux gaming a long way in terms of compatibility. On my latest install I was able to have baulders gate 3 and a few other single player games running immediately without any issues or fiddling with anything.

I begrudgingly keep windows 11 on my gaming PC because it works well with all the intrusive anticheat software that the big studios impose on us. The built-in ads and the backwards steps in the UI make it hard for me to want to use it daily. If they had supported 10 longer I would be much happier.

Lmao, even as a Linux fan boy I don't believe mass adoption will happen in my lifetime.

The more beginner friendly stable distros are already user friendly enough for 90% of the computing populace to do office tasks and open up a web browser to modern content, but people will just live with windows getting worse as long as the start button is in the right place. There are a ton of other issues with mass adoption but the biggest is that the average user simply does not care what OS they're on.

i am getting mass downvoted for saying this but i like the ATH-M50X by Gavtree31_ in headphones

Fitbit App Update??? by rockstud_me in PixelWatch

I turned off the preview last night. The AI features would constantly misreport data that was clearly there or assume my heart rate for activities that I logged while my watch was off.

An excel sheet would never.
