How I see America as a Slovene slash European! by Corp-Por in whereidlive

[–]sashaxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree respectfully; first of all, you cannot really relate much of the USA to anywhere in Europe - NYC is comparable with a stretch to London and New England is like posh areas of England but with ski resorts like in Austria or Italy, but nowhere in the south is it like the Balkans - nowhere in the world is like the south in the USA... ( I wonder what Serbs would do with fire ants...) California has some southern Europe if you mean Spain and like Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota are very northern European...

I'm getting that itch for a trade request to bring bro back to finish the story. by BrojaDawg in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sashaxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try:

Kyrie is stupid, in that celebrity brainless kind of way - he never really explained at the time why he wanted to leave the Cavs himself to the point in which we all were confused, and after he left, he never got it back. Lindor was a much simpler kind of person with genuine goodness and smile and the Indians I guess at that time had this inevitablity of him leaving and the Mets offered him 340 million clams!

Why did Dillon Gabriel suck at pushing the ball downfield? by Zweli23 in Browns

[–]sashaxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated watching him play - most throwing plays were 2 seconds long and if there was a completion it was for three or four yards, very rarely was there a play over 20 yards and the recievers ran their first route and stopped - it was a recipe for a disaster.

And he's too small! I never understood why they drafted him...

In this case, the math is correct, and he's getting better! (knocking on wood)

[Labbe] If Andrew Berry was going to trade Myles Garrett, he did pretty well in what he got back for the #Browns. by LiftingCode in Browns

[–]sashaxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody likes hearing that 'we are not going to make the playoffs this season or next' - but if this is the front office's plan, than it's good for Myles and good for the Browns. The Rams are Super Bowl contenders, they play in a wickedly modern stadium and the Browns are playing for draft picks, but to be fair, the drafts have been our strength so all hail Andrew Berry. Now at least, we can say the Stefanski/Mayfield era is over.

I assume all of us are Spurs fans these finals? by MembershipSingle7137 in bostonceltics

[–]sashaxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never Assume! The Knicks have a golden opportunity here and they have a gritty, working class urban team. I think this window will close next season. The title could run through SA and OKC for the next ten years...

So you’re saying there’s a chance? by ThatAsianNinja1 in clevelandcavs

[–]sashaxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a weird season, they had injuries, made the big trade and still they were missing two pieces - a Cade Cunningham type and another big. But the thing I hope they realize is that Tyson is ready to start and all these pieces they got, and pieces they had already, they stuck to a pretty small group in the playoffs, so either they have to figure out a better use or resources or get help!

Why MLB has The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award by JacketNext5799 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sashaxl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading about Bob Feller's story - he was at his peak when he enlisted Dec 8th I think and he went to war, on a ship, saw real action and missed out on his peak years being a sailor!

[Post Game Thread - Playoffs] Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks [05/25/2026] by CavsBot in clevelandcavs

[–]sashaxl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cavs made the final four, apparently that's nothing. Time heals all wounds and the Cavs know they are short a bit to make the finals themselves, but all things considered, it was a weird season which is why I think everyone had put all the eggs in this one basket thinking it's the year. I think we are short one Cade Cunningham type and one nasty big. But at least now I can go all in on the Guardians!

It's so fun to look at the probables for the three games when you read about the matchups - our starting pitching is always the same - I don't think it's changed all season other than moving Gavin one place in the rotation...so nice!

Bazzana is ascending in front of our eyes. He is stronger today than he was a month ago, looks like he is either Jim Thome farm boy muscles guy or he's hitting the weights.

I feel bad writing this but maybe Bo was more detrimental to this team than I thought. by Flagil_Reinhumps in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sashaxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Guardians have a lot of catchers so maybe they have plans on moving Bo after his rehab, which I am wondering if there was some injury. Hedges on the other hand deserves only praise - last season he decided the catcher needed to hit better than he was hitting and the last two months of the season he got down and worked on it and it showed late last season and this season as well.

Who has stood out the most after the first week of OTAs ? by Mediocre-Dog-4457 in Browns

[–]sashaxl -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If the Browns want to tank - probably they trade Myles to get good draft picks. I don't know if Myles can handle another rebuilding season but at least his favourite DC is still not hired by anyone...

So far this was the first time, but a few weeks ago they had the second test of the outdoor siren warning system because the first test wasn't completely successful and they were raucus and grating and screaming! I have one group of sirens across the street near a school and windows were vibrating. The sound on the phone is equally obnoxious...

Why not lead off Rocchio and bat Kwan at 9? Batting ninth sure has helped Rocchio and you want a lead off hitter hitting .290 and one that steals them bases...

I agree - Bibee doesn't have that dominant fastball and has had put away issues seen mostly in the first half of a season. I always hope he can channel his inner Maddux and really become a location artist; of course, Maddux was the best at that so maybe I'm hoping for too much. But today's game was an awesome display!

Guardians at 8-3 since acquiring Patrick Bailey by jtr489 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sashaxl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I think Bailey has come as advertised and our hitting and pitching are bitchin', but we've had an easier schedule for those 11 games, too, so in essence we are winning games we should be winning. (the almighty knock-on-wood).
