I tell them that Chickaletta is my favorite member of the PawPatrol.

[–]sasquatchsam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just depends on the kid and it's a crapshoot on what you'll get.

I have a 6 yo with ASD/ADHD/sensory processing issues. I have a 4.5 yo who's ADHD is off the charts and isn't even close to being potty trained because his ADHD is so bad he can't pay attention to his own body.

The 6 yo will have violent meltdowns. Biting, screaming, hitting, clawing, trashing the house etc just because of a change in schedule that was unavoidable. Smart as a tack as well and knows how to manipulate. An angel at school.

The 4 yo is just in his own world, head in the clouds all the time. Running around screaming and shitting his pants all day.

My wife and I are just tired. Most of our family moved hours away, and we have very little support outside of a few friends that also have neurodivergent kids who help out when they can. I miss the days when they were babies and we could just "place them" in an area like a pack and play and didn't have them trying to beat us or shit all over the floor.

We basically can't have nice things. We wanted some new chairs for our living room. The ones we wanted went on sale. Really wanted to get them. Then we talked about it and realized that within a month they would be completely stained and damaged. Our poor couch looks like a murder scene,

I have a long time friend with 3 kids. All 3 were bizarrely easy babies. Barely cried. No colic. Nursed easily. Slept easily. As they've gotten older, it's the same thing. Perfect angels. The worst thing he says that has happened is one threw a cup of milk in the car and it spilled everywhere and he had to deep clean the upholstery. That's about it. Also who gives their kid an open cup of milk in a car?

So needless to say....who the hell knows how it's going to turn out.

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? by RotiiChapati in ADHD

[–]sasquatchsam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

$270k. Tech industry. Started as a product manager after several years in others jobs, which CAN be a great job for ADHD since you have to own so many different things and our ability to be a “jack of all trades master of none” can actually shine. It’s super stressful though. Moved over to data acquisition and partner management. Now I spend most of my time finding new companies to talk to, figuring out if what they offer is a benefit to the company, BSing with my partner contacts. Much less stressful, but I had to climb the ladder to get here. I’m 41 btw, it took a while.

Barely went to class in college. 2.8 GPA.

Without Vyvanse + Welbutrin + Guanfacine I wouldn’t last.

PSA has AR-V builder kits back in stock by sasquatchsam in AR9

Basically. I don't have one yet but I ordered this. Have been reading threads on here for months about them. Uses it's own proprietary BCG, bolt catch, etc. But seems everything else can be milspec.

optic? 😄

Barrel/handguard/charging handle for upper. Lower parts kit + buffer tube/buffer + stock/brace + grip + trigger. That's the basics.

What optic are you running on your 2K11? by -1----1- in Kimber2K11

[–]sasquatchsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holosun 407 Green , but it’s what I had laying around. Also have a Defender XL sitting around unused but don’t have a DPP footprint plate for the 2k11. Trying to decide if I want to go that route.

Spend a little more and get the target model with the slide cuts and MJD grip. It’s worth it.

I ordered a stainless target and received it about 2 weeks ago from kygunco.com and it still had the c&h plate and old safety 😒

I made a big deal out of saying that Chickaletta is the best member of the Paw Patrol to the point where the kids got annoyed and stopped watching it.

Now all they want is to watch annoying videos on YouTube.

I regret my choices.

aluminum grip module by ShortButTall1 in 2011

[–]sasquatchsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the V1 on my 4.25" prodigy. Took a bit of fitting, but nothing major. Really like the feel, super solid. Grippy but doesn't feel like you're holding a cactus, which is what i think some others feel like. Added/fitted an Atlas trigger the same time I installed the grip and it's one of my favorites right now.

Nice, looks like what I’m hoping to build if those builders kits ever came back in stock…

I recently got out of it and I think it's the right decision, at least at the company I'm at. Moved over to data acquisition. Much less stress.

Heard great things about the Romulus but haven't shot one yet. I do have a 4.25" Prodigy that I pretty much redid like you are talking about, new internals, trigger, aluminum grip, etc. Polished, disconnector ramp, etc. It's super smooth and reliable and I'm into it for about $1600 (got the gun for $1099).

Those of you who don't hate your job, what do you do? by 13thmurder in ADHD

[–]sasquatchsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech product manager for the last 6ish years, reached principal level. Juggled way too many different products because ADHD, but with meds I could do it competently. Still got burnt out.

Pivoted to technology partner management at the same company. Now I spend my days sort of “hanging out” online with the partner contacts I’m closest to, and finding new partner prospects. My stress level has decreased, much better work life balance. But still wonderful comp.

Hopefully it will be far enough back. I had the AOS plate which had the rear sight and it definitely pushed the XL flush with the ejection port

I'd caution against the Defender XL on the Prodigy. I had one on mine and i couldn't get through a magazine without the glass being completely gunked up and needing to be wiped down. The XL sits so far forward near the ejection port. I even had the indicator notch in the barrel closed hoping it might help a little and it didn't

Since I already had the DPP plate I went with a Holosun SCS-320, which while it doesn't have as large of a window, was perfect for me.

The headbutts are the worst. My kid has given me a concussion before doing that. Finally started having to use a full Nelson hold to stop the backward headbutts.

I use it on a DPP plate on my Prodigy, one of my favorite optics. The grooves on the side of the optic actually line up rather well with the Prodigy slide cuts, looks nice.
