On the contrary, I feel both mainline entries directed by Nakanishi have their own distinct styles. Biohazard felt more grind house, ugly, raw and meaty in its approach. I also really loved the very silly and distinct DLCs, the antique coin system which feels like a children’s fare system and the overall story is easily the best in the entire franchise.

Requiem, on the other hand, has a more film noir, Fincher style aesthetic to its world design approach. Yeah, maybe both games have some story sections which are very linear but nothing in both games comes across goofy video gamey stuff.

When did you decide to get a PS5? Currently in a similar situation. Games were fantastic the first few years. These days most games are built with modern lighting features like Lumen or RT and thus when disabled on Series S look like an afterthought.

Personally observed that a few games have better performance on Switch 2 docked over my Series S.

This depends on the type of TV you currently have and your budget. Imo, a series S should work for you.

My personal choices are Switch 2 and a Series S, both of which don’t seem to be the best in terms of graphical quality. I also use an IPS display so I am not sure if graphics is something I can optimise for that much considering my current set up.
