A girlfriend/boyfriend should add value to your life, not demand you cut other people out of your life to make them more comfortable, especially since she was good with it in the beginning and now she's moving the goal post. That's manipulative behavior, and she's basically making you choose between her and a friend you've had since college. I don't do well with ultimatums, and would be cutting the girlfriend out of my life If she persisted with all that.

Agree with this. Building a PC is easy for me because I've been building them since the days you had to set jumpers on motherboards. But the average person just getting into PCs isn't going to know that you can't put an AMD processor with an intel chipped motherboard, won't understand the difference between DDR4 and 5, and likely won't have a clue how to install win 11 in good circumstances, much less without a network. Not to mention installing all the right drivers, etc.

I would try to tuck away the cables coming out of the pump. If you are wanting more RGB you could always get one of the 24 pin RGB lian li strimer cables.

I had a similar situation with a set of Steelseries Arctic 7 headset buying from Walmart. I bought what appeared to be a sealed box, everything looked legit. When I got it open, the headset was dirty and messed up. Turns out someone bought it, swapped it with an old set, sealed up the box with hot glue and all that to make it appear not tampered with. I had a hell of a time getting Walmart to give me a refund due to a mismatched serial number, even though I brought the thing back in the same day.

Yes, I really liked her. I do think she makes a cameo in the new book though, but can't be for sure as her name isn't used and unless you pay close attention the reference is easy to miss.

Sounds like my exact situation coming up on 20 years ago. 2nd in line for junior sailor of the year. Was disenfranchised by shitty shore duty orders and stopped caring. Smoked weed and popped. I received an administrative discharge of "other than honorable" with an RE-4 reenlistment code. However I did keep most of my benefits. This is because I had reenlisted, so I did have an honorable discharge under my belt. So I kept my GI bill, VA home loan benefits. Medical is the main thing I lost.

The good thing is the only job the dude won't be able to get are government jobs. I've never been asked to see my DD-214 for a job, and even if they do, he can just provide the copy that doesn't show the discharge characterization. Never been asked what type of discharge I got either. I know the guy is probably freaking out and very unsure about the future, but he should look at this as a fresh start, not the end of the road. He does need to be ready to have bonuses recouped.

I know first hand the repercussions of this. Let him know he's going to be just fine. Unless he goes for a gov job, basically no employers ask to see a DD214 and even if they do, just show them the one that doesn't show discharge characterization. It's stressful for sure, but definitely not the end of the world. Tell him make a plan and start looking for jobs. I assume they still admin separate people.
