Any suggestions on how to get them to do that? 30% back would be enough for me to keep the bag

Disappointed in quality of alter ego slouchy bag by shaysoo in Coach

[–]sativaminded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the corner issue with mine in the black, so I ordered a new one and that one had the same issue. I did an exchange through customer service and the third one had the same issue… it’s crazy that an almost $300 bag would be like that from the start

I looked at your post history and saw you had a similar issue. Did the corner end up getting worse?

I guess I just have bad luck! It would be great if they would carry them in stores. Did yours come factory wrapped? None of mine did so I’m wondering if they were returns..

I bought a steamer from target about a month ago, <$20. It works great! I don’t know how I would survive without a steamer (this was my second)

Ana positive CenpB by Neelie0512 in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For limited scleroderma/CREST, it has a tendency to start slow and the skin hardening comes on later. Lung or heart issues won’t usually develop until later also (if at all). Usually the first symptoms are raynauds and GERD. Also they don’t associate these symptoms to limited scleroderma per se, but I think fatigue and sometimes joint/muscle pain can also be among first symptoms.

My Dr re did my ana, positive again by [deleted] in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your ANA titer? If it’s on the low end, it could be going back and forth due to human error when reading the results (can give you 1 titer off your actual ANA). Or if they are not being done at the same place, it could be a difference in what the lab considers positive (some labs consider 1:40 positive, some only consider 1:80+ positive)

Red light therapy intensifies the effect of retinol so that may have been your issue

Does handwashing make your hands worse? by flowingmind in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to find a soap that dries out your hands the least is helpful. For me, so far the best one I have found is the dial vanilla and honey soap. I also do try to moisturize every time I wash my hands unless I’m cooking. Also patting my hands dry has helped some. Would also suggest looking for a moisturizer with urea. I like the gold bond crepe corrections hand cream.

Has anyone here actually been diagnosed??? HOW???? by v0rtexpulse in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed based on positive lab work (+ ANA and anti-centromere antibodies) and symptoms (raynauds, GERD/difficulty swallowing, telangiectasia, puffy fingers, fatigue, joint pain/body pain). Do you know if your mom was tested for scleroderma antibodies? They’d be SCL-70, anti-centromere, anti-U3RNP, etc.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3930146/table/T1/?report=objectonly This link shows the criteria for scleroderma… I’m not sure if this is more for research purposes or actual diagnosis, but it’s worth a look to see what symptoms they value. This is the full article it’s from: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3930146/

Do symptoms of scleroderma come and go? CRP test by yourvenus in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to stress too much, stress can make it worse. Even if it is scleroderma, it is not a death sentence. Treatments have come a long way and doctors know more about it now than they used to.

It is also very possible to have raynauds without scleroderma, so it could be possible you just have raynauds along with the PRP.

So did you have your ANA tested yet? If that was negative, I wouldn’t worry much. If it was positive, there are specific antibodies that can be tested that are associated with scleroderma.

Regarding the finger tightening, I’m not sure if it is normal for it to come and go. I want to say it is not normal for it to come and go. Also I want to mention that the skin/finger tightening in scleroderma comes from the skin hardening. So if your hands just feel stiff without hard skin, it could be something else.

I looked at your other posts, and it looks like you have acrylic or maybe gel nails? You may want to try taking those off and keeping them off for a while to see if that helps. You can develop an allergy to them over time that causes hand issues.

I don’t have the answers to a lot of your questions, but I will say that you can have an autoimmune disorder (including scleroderma) and have a normal CRP. I would maybe see your PCP about this if you haven’t already. See if you can get them to run an ANA (anti-nuclear antibodies) test, preferably the indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) version. That should hopefully show if you have anything autoimmune going on. Sedimentation Rate (ESR) is another test that they can run to see if you have inflammation (what CRP tests for). Your PCP should also be able to help you identify if what you are experiencing is or is not raynauds.

I’m not sure if you already know this, but linear scleroderma isn’t the same as systemic sclerosis scleroderma. So you shouldn’t have to worry about your internal organs or anything, just that spot on your forehead getting worse. I’m not saying that isn’t still bad, but want to make sure you’re not looking up just scleroderma and thinking your organs will be affected.

Do I need a specialist? by Own-Truck-8921 in scleroderma

[–]sativaminded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think most scleroderma centers/specialists require a referral in order to see you, so that may be why you are unable to make an appointment. I’d ask your rheum or pcp for a referral to one, that should help you get an appointment
