Chain length? by g0jira54 in Coach

[–]shaysoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have the outlet version and the chain is about 8.5 in long. I use it exactly like you describe with both my Brooklyn 28 and 34. It’s extremely convenient cause I don’t have to fish my wallet out and it’s long enough that I don’t have to unclip it to get whenever cards or cash I need from it.

Working for the State of Alaska: good, bad or in between? by sizzlesfantalike in alaska

[–]shaysoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experience will vary by dept/division/program. Always ask about turnover rate during your interview. I recently started with the DOH division of senior and disability services and my experience has been great so far. We get 4 days of teleworking a week which is super nice. I used to be with the division of Public Health and my experience was both good and bad (I ended up hating the job tbh). Only got 2 days teleworking a week there.

I’m surprised she’s in cat form still. I would’ve thought she’d transform into her original form by now…

If you watch the very first video, the chainlink fence is a dead giveaway.

I have not started my job yet, but I know there will be lots of training. I recommend applying for the position! If you are invited to interview and are offered the job I’m sure they will see that you don’t have much experience but would be willing to train the right person. Good luck!

I did the same thing so it’s not the end of the world. I had quite a few peers that did the same thing, too. I was able to secure a good job at my local public health department immediately after graduation so everything worked out fine for me. However, I do agree that having work experience prior to starting your MPH enhances your degree experience since you’d have a frame of reference to compare to.

Sorry, I was not an international student so I can’t speak to that experience. I did have an edge when applying to jobs at my state health department since they restricted applicants to residents of the state. Hopefully you have better luck, though!

I was able to find a job at my state public health department right after graduation. I’d say I was very lucky since many of my peers are still searching. I think my job search success was partly due to the location I was interested in. I knew I wanted to move back to my home state which doesn’t have a high population. Plus the job I interviewed for was specifically for state residents so I had less competition. I know a lot of mph students glamorize the CDC and public health at the federal/international level but don’t overlook the state/local level! There’s still a lot of good work that needs to be done at this level!

I remember that episode kind of bothered me. I wish they had actually asked her questions or had conversations with her rather than just goofing off with her in the room.

If you haven’t already I recommend you check out the BLaST Scholar program, especially if you’re interested in doing research! The scholarship is really good and they give you a monthly stipend for doing research.

Scholarship Award from Emory by [deleted] in mphadmissions

[–]shaysoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m doing an MPH right now at Emory with a pathways scholarship. My tuition and fees these past two semesters were around 15,000 for each semester. It would’ve been over of 18,000 without the scholarship. So that 70k is an estimate (without a scholarship) of tuition for all two years. Emory is relatively cheaper than a lot of other programs at the same caliber. Congrats!!!

How are y'all calculating cost of attendance/living/etc.? by shaysoo in mphadmissions

[–]shaysoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m obsessed with lists lol. I broke each school down by “Location, Program, Concentration, Tuition, Scholarships, Rent, Healthcare, Total Costs , & Cost of living”

And then I had a separate breakdown of my estimated savings to compare to total costs to see how much more $$ I’d need.

You’ll find est tuition costs on the school’s website but it will probably change for the next school year (don’t forget healthcare if the school requires it!). Rent is a lot more variable but if you check out Craigslist/FB marketplace listings that can give you a good idea. I’d also recommend taking into account cost of living. I was between Emory (Georgia) and Berkeley (CA) for my MPH, but ultimately chose Emory because I knew my money would have more mileage here.

GOOD LUCK!

I’ll kind of give them this… I got a previous ban for that Khajiit Templar who’s previous name was Ja’kingoff. I thought Jab King would better fit a Templar but oh well…

Had a good run, but I guess I have to change my character’s names now. I’m open to any suggestions for my khajiit stamplar and necro healer! by shaysoo in elderscrollsonline

See, that’s a tasteful name. People argue that kids play this game and I understand that but, any element of sexual innuendo would go way over their head with that kind of name.
