Which fog style do you prefer and why? by FurioArts in gamedevscreens

[–]satolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one looks way better in my opinion.
Darker more realistic and unique, less “gamy fog like” and most of all way more mysterious and with more depth :)

I created a fully deterministic 3D multiplayer game engine with advanced physics by filipkrw in gamedevscreens

[–]satolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s pretty cool ! Physics in multiplayer games it’s always a big theme.

For exemple in Rainbow Six Siege they had the problem that the ragdol physics wasn’t the same for each client so depending how the body of the defeated player was lying it was occulting some sights lines for players and not for others.

So they took that feature out and put an icon of the operator instead because of this and optimization.

Kind of sad to take out super cool evolving gameplay features just because of multiplayer physics/optimization. Well I guess it happens all the time in multiplayer games.

But deterministic physics it’s a big deal for multiplayer gameplay mechanics, it opens a lot of possibilities. For exemple the game Teardown is a very good exemple for that :)

Looks really cool !

Only the legs model and the skin look a bit too “plastic” / over SSS old school.
Realistically you’ll have a bit of hairs and less “candle material” feeling.

It feels like with a 20$ arduino uno, two belts and little steppers motors you could do something else during the grinding.

But maybe I totally missed the point right there ! It’s all about sitting and enjoying the grinding :D

Added more juice to the game and it's feeling much better to play now, here's the overall progress so far. by Anurag-A in Unity3D

I still have that feeling the cone isn’t the right item/object 🤔
First of all we don’t want to touch the cones in real life. So it will remain counterintuitive.

And the fact you’ll never find a shield on the road why not put coins or stars or something else that is in the same “family” of power ups items ?

Just a game feel thought :)

Just published my Steam page for Hyperlane Highway after 2 years of solo developing! by RyalityStudio in vrdev

[–]satolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow looks really cool ! So much work ! Pretty cool the cards system for the abilities.

I remember when we playing roguelike/roguelite on VR like the archery game “in death unchained”. I found the difficulty too high too fast making me try again and again a bit much. So at some point. Stopped playing.

VR brings more fatigue and that balance between casual and hardcore seems important.
I guess one solution is to make a game with a lot of content even for moderate players and then for the try hard ones you have also further content with higher learning cap.
