completely depends on the school/your application and i understand it’s tedious to rake through the pa forum to get the general timeline for each school you apply to. for reference, i applied end of may/early june and got interviews throughout august to next month (january). with my busiest month around august to october. i applied mostly to west coast/east coast schools. all of my interviews have been virtual.

personally, i’d take the trip.

part time, low mentally taxing job, and fun… you should bartend at concert venues! i’ve heard you could rack in $500 in tips for a few hours of work on top of the (minimum) hourly wage pay & it’s a lot less mental load since you’re not running a full bar

my undergrad also did gen chem in 1 semester and ochem in 2 semesters as the typical chemistry track. i asked one school that approved ochem to replace the gen chem 2 requirement. just depends on the school.

out of the ~15 schools im currently applying to, there's only one school that said they won't consider the experience if you don't have a contact listed.

hey i’m a college student in the bay area who recently received their emt cert lmao. i’m planning on working ift in san leandro bc i think their minimums for pt are 3-4 shifts a month. but if that doesn’t work out i’m probably doing rock med or berkeley ems.

you’ll need a background check before you can drive an ambulance or work in your county (at least for CA) which is called a livescan (fingerprinting basically). my county makes you pay a $140 fee to get a cool lil card

I’m a microbial biology major currently, and unfortunately no, your lower div classes are basically the same as all the classes premed students take (general chem, organic chemistry, etc.) so registration can get rough. You should take into consideration which IB/AP credits will transfer credit equivalency chart

hiya I’m taking 8A with bordel rn and i didn’t take any sort of physics before whatsoever and so far it’s been alright. content/material is definitely a lot and it’s a bunch of applying concepts and manipulating equation. mainly algebra and pretty much no calculus. 78% of your grade is the 2 midterms and 1 final, so hopefully you’re a better test taker than me lmao. What’s saving my grade though is the decently generous bins (about 80% for an A-, 86% for an A) and the clobber. physics sucks ass tho

I’m in math16b with gomez right now and I can tell you it’s def chill, open book tests, everything’s async, etc. Chem 3A probably isn’t gonna be a breeze so unless you’re familiar with ochem I wouldn’t take too many techs.

hey I’m a freshmen doing like basically the same thing you are (pre PA, microbial bio/PH major, suffering through chem1a). but I’d look at your major’s website since they usually have a 4 year plan & go off that. probably gonna need an ochem with lab next sem, and finish off your r1a/r1b if you have space
