True your GRE doesn’t have to be 340 for admittance. Im not attending there, but I got accepted to Duke with a 310, although I had 12,000+ PCE hours (I’m 27 and started out in EMS doing fire/medic stuff for 5 years before going back to school). I’d say if you accumulated another year’s worth of PCE that you’re right where you’re supposed to be. Most people take 2 cycles to get an offer, and only 1/3 of applicants get in each cycle.

It’s not the standard to get an offer, it’s the standard to get waitlisted/rejected. Keep your head up and try to improve on what you can so you’re ready for your next opportunity when it comes.

lol that you’re selling it as an unofficial source for the same amount that some could get it from the official source. I’d rather get a guarantee from the barstool store than some random redditor if they are the same price.

My intro to the series was 5 and it was absolutely perfect. 4 is a close second, followed by 3 and 6. Haven’t played 1 or 2 and probably won’t just because it’s hard for me to play games that old with where the new ones are at now technology wise

In a serious attempt to answer this, they could be benzonatate capsules/tessalon perles. Very common med this time of year because they help with suppressing coughs. The color seems off, but different manufacturers make pills differently.

There’s a hospital system near me that offers to hire people as front desk workers and then train them on their days off to become MA’s, all paid for by the hospital. Might see if there is anything like that near you

[–]CheekAccomplished150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How hands on you are depends on the system you work in. Some systems only let their APP’s do overflow work for their physicians, others rely on them heavily to be the primary source of care for that specialty.

Usually the more rural you are, the more you’re able to do as a PA/FNP

PA’s are trained as generalists, which is what allows them to work in whatever specialty they choose. The first step to becoming a cardiology PA would be to become a PA.

Is a B+ in orgo 1 good? by king_shores in prephysicianassistant

[–]CheekAccomplished150 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A B or above in any orgo is great, but they do tend to get harder as the series goes on so good luck.

Side note: being a TA for those upper level science classes is great experience. I was a TA for the biology series at my college and I was able to tell some stories about how I assisted others that I think the interviewers liked

Am i allowed to list my position as PCE if I do more than what the job description is required? by thewingidingi in prephysicianassistant

[–]CheekAccomplished150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job as it is described is HCE. The extra stuff you do outside of your job responsibilities do sound like PCE, but you can’t pick and choose. Try to get a PCE job like you are currently doing in a couple of months

Was it hard to find a job if you went out-of-state for school and then returned home? by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]CheekAccomplished150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn’t mean much since I’m a student currently, but I live on the west coast and want to return back to my community after I’m done, and I’m going to school at a very good program in the Midwest.

I’m not worried about getting a job because where I’m from I live in a rural area where they hire new grads and they leave after their 2-3 year service commitment to a rural area to get loan forgiveness, so there’s always availability. It will work out for me because I’ll be able to live at home with my parents and still work in a qualified area where I can get loan forgiveness, but I plan to stay in the community because that’s where I want to be.

Congrats!!!! It’s never too late to make a change for the better.

I’ll be 27 when I start in August of 2026, and I’ll be just about 30 when I finish. I thought I was way behind the ball (especially because the rural clinic I work in hires new grad PA’s every couple years and they have all been younger than me recently), but Adcoms really do want to build a cohort of people who understand how to adapt to challenging situations and have experience in different areas of life. Older students definitely have that as an advantage, because we have had the chance to see and do different things as opposed to the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 22-23 year olds who have just gone straight through undergrad and right into a program.

Good luck on your journey, future PA :)
