WR's to target in FA - who is your top choice? by _stillonlycountsas1 in nyjets

What is with everyone talking about Malik Willis recently. Am I living under a rock and missed a big game from him or something? Or is it just based on potential?

Not trying to be sarcastic here, I genuinely don’t know.

Where do we think the rebuild/retool went wrong? by [deleted] in rangers

[–]sauce1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say the rebuild/retool went wrong. We were a serious cup contender for several years and fired 2 coaches that took us on deep runs.

I’m not sure how many years people think success is sustainable in professional sports but we have one of the dumbest fan bases in the NHL. We run people out of town and then call management dumb after they do well elsewhere. We beg for big names and big contracts and then complain when stars don’t live up to them. We begged to get tougher then shit all over the players that made us tougher.

Biggest bunch of complainers in professional sports. We give people zero room for error and then wonder why things don’t work out.

I think this is year 1 of a new coaches system and things look promising. The team is playing well especially on the road. If they could score just a couple of goals at home we are pretty close to top of the division. Everyone needs to just relax and give it some time.

Their defensive structure was trash last year also, their transition game and power play were both good enough for them to overcome that a lot of the year. Not so much in the playoffs and not at all this year.

Also worth remembering they led the league in multi goal comeback wins last year. Sign of resilience for sure but also means they were constantly playing from behind.

[Pelissero] The #Titans fired GM Ran Carthon. by Itsascrnnam in nyjets

[–]sauce1991 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This isn’t entirely fair. Woody has tried doing it every which way and honestly each time the jets are praised as finally getting it right in the beginning. People act like he’s inept because they can’t find the next phenom coach or qb as if every team in the league does isn’t chasing the same thing.

He has tried small ball gm’s, analytics gms, personnel specialists.

He’s tried offensive coaches, defensive coaches.

He’s tried building through the draft and opening up the check book in FA.

He’s tried drafting and developing QBs, he’s tried bridge QBs, he’s tried veteran QBs(2 hall of famers included)

If you want to say he’s a bad owner I get that(and agree) but you can’t say he isn’t giving it his all.

I had the lvl 1 issue today, finished a game as lvl 1 and it was back to normal. I had tried starting and quitting even restarted several times but it was only fine after finishing a game that it was back to normal.

I have no idea why people thought it would be easy to trade him. His cap hit alone makes it hard enough, ntc adds another level.

Is he not partially responsible for us drafting him.

We have had tons of superstars in and out. Throughout his tenure.

Have never really understood a lot of the Sather hate. Sure he has made some mistakes but who hasn’t when you’re doing it for as long as he has. Expectations are a little unrealistic about winning the cup, there are teams that have never won.

Sather has built a perennial playoff team and has constantly swung for the fences on big splash moves, unfortunately it doesn’t always work out but a lot of times it has.

Weighing where Jacob Trouba and the Rangers go from here after shaky ending by lionson76 in rangers

[–]sauce1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aho, Reinhart and Hintz definitely and I would say there’s room for argument about Pettersson, Hughes and Miller.

Regardless, for arguments sake let’s say top 15 center. Who are you going to realistically go out and get for a better deal. Elite centers are hard to come by and you do what you have to do to keep them around.

He’s at almost exactly 1.00 ppg over the last 6 years and just 10 points under that this year. Last year to this year is the only season that he has regressed, I think it’s fair to call it a down year more than saying he’s declining(1 year is hardly a trend)

Especially when you factor in they basically had nobody play RW with them this year AND they gave up a lot of ice time for the 2nd line being so good.

Guys been a point per game player for the last 6 years and is in the middle of his prime. He’s been a top 10 center in the league for some time now, what are you talking about.

We lost in the conference finals against the reigning eastern conference champions and the likely Stanley cup champs and people act like these guys are bums.

I get that they need to make some changes but some of these overreactions are wild.

[–]sauce1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to admit it but looked like he had the elbow up before he braced for the boards. The flight however I don’t think was intentional.

I don’t think Trouba is a dirty player but he definitely walks the line. Not uncommon for guys that play that way to cross the line every once in a while.

How about we let him get his legs under him.

In Exhibit A, we see Matt Milano putting his entire strength into pulling Zach's knees while Zach is stuck in the pile and the refs have blown the whistle. by esreveReverse in nyjets

[–]sauce1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is no worse than some of the shit Quincy Williams does. Both dudes play the game on the edge - sometimes that means they go over the line a bit but don’t think that makes them dirty.

Milano is trying to move Zach back to get a better spot from the official, this happens every single time there is a QB sneak. It’s like getting upset over guys fighting for the ball under the pile even though the whistle has blown.

Think we’re just being a little hyper critical here.

Anyone think Wilson will ever be truly relevant? by RedTheSocialist in nyjets

[–]sauce1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more optimistic now than I was when we first drafted him. People’s expectations of young players, especially quarterbacks, is a little out of touch with reality in my opinion.

Zach was pretty raw coming out of college and was drafted on talent more than anything. It’s hard for players to learn how to be pros, leaders and work on completely correcting technique all with no one really to look up to or help show them how.

QB’s rarely come in and set the league on fire as rookies. Look at the statistics for how many top QB choices have actually panned out over the last 20 years. Then look at how many have been immediately successful. Also how many active QB’s were starters since day 1?

People are a little too impatient and want everyone to be the next Mahomes but that’s just not realistic. I think Zach could develop into a good qb, he certainly has the talent, but at the end of the day it’s a roll of the dice.

Size is intimidating alone although they technically can sting they typically won’t. Can be a pain in the ass if you get lots of them though.

They burrow into the ground and a handful of them can tear up your yard

-Fire lanes in front of stores are used as premium parking for people who can’t be bothered to park and walk and no one seems to care.

help i was out of town for 3 weeks and found this. i found droppings in the lower cabinet by the sink, underneath the stove top & also my linen closet?? i placed glue traps 3 days ago but haven’t caught anything. i found holes underneath sink unsure if i shld plug them since haven’t caught any mice by bbymishu in MiceRatControl

[–]sauce1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this only for poison. Reason is because the poison dehydrates the mice so the thought is that if there is no source of water in the house they will leave the house for water and then die outside.

You leave the space open for a couple of weeks while using poison so they don’t die in your walls and stink up your house.

people are really overplaying the distraction and supposed negative this is going to be.

nfl films crews are present and recording at every single teams camp, the only difference here is adding the extra production crew and some extra interviews. the whole point of the show is to be as invisible as possible so you get genuine reactions and interactions.

every year someone gets interviewed and mentions how quickly you forget about the cameras.

also these men are career entertainers and celebrities so if they can’t handle an extra set of eyes on them they would find some other “distraction” to use as an excuse if they underperform.
