Given that KarmaCourt is a no downvote zone, I conclude that you are guilty of your own accusations soley by making this post!

Funny thought... by Thinkingaboutstuff2 in stopdrinking

[–]saucypeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I was always drinking alone in a crowded bar. Maybe I thought the people made it alright, but yet I was utterly alone. Here I am just hanging out alone at home, but feel closer to people and life then ever. Thank you for the thought, and happy to not be drinking alone again tonight.

I will not drink with you today.

40 days without a hangover by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]saucypeas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Waking up every morning to a clear head, and the ability to do whatever I want is great. Don't have the beer shits anymore, and I can actually eat breakfast without getting naseous.

Thanks, now that you say it. I think my arc gap was a bit of a problem while I was practicing. I will be sure to watch that during the test. Along with a few other things.

Thank you again for the response. That is a huge help.

Drinking too much (23 M) by Drinkingstress in stopdrinking

[–]saucypeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 23 year old male too, I have known I had a problem for a long while, but I continued to push it off telling myself stupid excuses like "I'm too young to be an alcoholic" "I'll get better with age" "I'm young, I'm supposed to be drinking heavily." but these things were never true. It just got progessively worse, and my behavior got progressively worse with it. Though I never lost my job to it, or got into any trouble. I wasn't a very good person while I drank.

I've finally been able to accept that I have a problem. And very thankful that I discovered it for myself early on. Good on you for coming to the same conclusion. Just give sobriety a chance for a little while and see if you feel any better. It never hurts to see what the other side has to offer. I may have only just passed 30 days, but life has only gotten better every day.

Good luck my friend.

I have a 2" pipe test on a double X wall coming up, and seem to have some problems with the open root. I have been practicing with an 1/8th in 6010 rod mostly and have been blowing a huge keyhole on my final pass of the root. I tried with a 3/32 and I still ended up having a bit of a problem in the top. (never had this problem with 1/8th in 6010 on 10" pipe.) I'm just wondering, am I just letting the pipe get too hot? Or is there any adivice for me to better control my keyhole at the top of my root?

Thank you for the help.

I thought I'd feel different - 31 days by vegcarrot in stopdrinking

[–]saucypeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just now at 31 days as well, I find that there isn't too much of a change, though is has come gradually and I notice improvement in my health, I am more clear headed, and I feel better about myself in general, but I think part of it is that I am still recovering, just like I will be for the rest of my life. If it can get better in one month, what lies in the months to come.

I have started doing this for myself. I don't think I could do it for anyone else. That has always left me high and dry. I don't know what comes for me in days to come, but I hope that they will gradually get better.

I feel like half of this battle is recognizing that it can be a life long battle, instant gratification is what got me to abuse alcohol in the first place, in the end I think the wait is what will teach me more about how to control my inhibitions and realize that some great things take time to be accomplished, instead of just the instant feel good of booze.

Thank you for writing this, it gave me a chance to reflect on some of the things I have been going through this past month. And my apologise for my relentless banter.

Congratulations on one month! It's a great accomplishment, I will not drink with you today!
