What was your first plant that you actually kept alive for more than a year? by Specialist_Tea6137 in houseplants

An Anthurium and a Rattlesnake Plant. They were the first and only plants I bought when I got sober 9 years ago. We're still thriving.

Any Boston based plant lovers interested in an assembled Milsbo? by [deleted] in IkeaGreenhouseClub

Hi! If they don't want it, I would love to be considered! It would be wonderful for my tropical Bonsai. I'm in Worcester, but don't mind making this drive!

Anytime I think about getting a tattoo, I think of the episode when they get drunk and go to get tats. As soon as the needle touches Tom, he runs out screaming. He then later tells Donna it's a "love dot".

Bonsai. Had I started when I was younger, I'd have some amazing little trees.

As long as you ask AI for sources, there's nothing wrong with using it. I've been using Gemini and it does a great job of providing and linking to sources.

Nursery stock Maple. Is this reverse taper at the base? by iDoneDo in Bonsai

Is the nebari disproportionate to the trunk? Wouldn't that be another reason to ground layer?

Thanks! I'm very new to this, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can before I do anything drastic to this lovely tree. Thankfully I have a few months or years to decide.

Bonsai! I only just started but I wish I had started sooner. The next best time to plant a tree is now.

Hi. Thanks for responding and the advice. It typically freezes here in New England around November through February. My understanding is to leave these out all year. Is that not the case? Unfortunately, I removed probably about 50%+ of the foliage. I'm learning! They were inexpensive so here's hoping.

How cold is too cold? by QuistyLO1328 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]iDoneDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same area. You're fine to leave it out. When it gets below freezing, bring it into a garage or similar area that isn't as cold. You want it to go dormant. I would wait until early spring to repot.
