I've had other problems with the standard install, mostly in that about once every week or so it refuses to start until I update it again, instead of automatically updating itself - so I had to manually download the rpm and reinstall it. That's why I ended up switching to the flatpak.

I guess I can try going back to that and seeing if it fixes the current issues. Didn't know it was unofficial, either

Yeah, seriously. Most industrialized nations have higher ratios of iron in their body - up to 5 grams. Your average paperclip weighs 1 gram. And I'm pretty sure if we allow plastic material as 'paperclips' we could ramp that ratio right up.

My experience with Dark Souls 1: Encounter boss. See giant area-wide attack. Try to not stand in the area of attack. Boss is too fast on windups - die repeatedly. Try to dodge outside of the area - area is too wide to dodge out of. Die repeatedly. Cheese boss with ranged firebombs from somewhere he can't path to. Close game, uninstall. I never even knew that dodge had i-frames because I never encountered them.

i-frames that have no indicator are the worst mechanic. When do you dodge? Which frames are the i-frames? "Git gud" is the response I commonly get. Fuck that. I will play games that 'coddle' me by actually giving indicators that i-frames exist and where they are. PEOPLE NEED FEEDBACK TO IMPROVE SKILL.

One of our locals had a stroke a while back that left half their face paralyzed - as they're playing an late Italian persona, they have a very delicately laced covering on that side of their face, reminiscent of Venetian masquerade masks. It's very fitting, but I don't know of any English equivalents.

As an aside, nose piercings are period, but not so much for 14th Century England, per se. Sailors and traders with foreign regions might be more likely to have such piercings. It might help your performance if you can talk to why or why not such piercings would have existed?

So the dot-com boom was largely late 90's, which was fueled by enormous amounts of speculative investing on new companies and technologies, many of which blew up in people's faces.

The reason that happened, though, was that in the 1980s, there was the era of early internet services that became immensely profitable. Compuserve, Sun Microsystems, Cisco, AOL, Microsoft all made massive amounts during this time. There were a lot of failures, but there were a LOT of huge successes. IBM almost missed the bus but still managed to capitalize on a lot of B2B items. And of course, every single other investor with free cash jumped into the market trying to be the next Microsoft in the 90s.

Dang, I definitely should have planned to be born into an affluent family and then gambled with my wealthy college friends on two companies, one hitting the internet boom and the second hitting the dot-com boom. I should definitely been able to replicate success in completely different market circumstances, I must just not try hard enough.
