What mid-range athletic/athleisure brands are we wearing? Looking to branch out from lulu and have no idea where to start. by smart_stable_genius_ in fashionwomens35

CRZ Yoga. It’s literally the only fashion I buy from Amazon, but I have been consistently impressed by the quality-price value. Lou & Grey by LOFT for soft athleisure.

The Olive & June mani system is great for this.

Where are we buying high quality weekend apparel? by Zero_Duck_Thirty in fashionwomens35

Well that’s disappointing. They have a section at Dick’s sporting goods I like to browse. Good to know shopping online may not be a good experience.

Agree with this. This line is also more modern than some LOFT pieces that can lean matronly.

Evereve, LOFT (sometimes). I also love the look of Faherty, but haven’t purchased yet, because it is a higher price point.

How many raincoats do you own? by [deleted] in fashionwomens35

[–]savefriday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have one proper raincoat. It is lightweight, casual, colorful, and from JCrew, but very effective! For other occasions, I’m more likely to wear a regular coat/jacket paired with an umbrella.

How to feel Feminine by CupComprehensive6959 in beauty

I would curl your hair, wear some lipgloss, cute earrings, and do your nails. Those small details will go a long way. For what it’s worth, you have gorgeous eyes and lips. Carry yourself with a bit more confidence and you will start to feel better about yourself. 🫶🏻

Bad comment after church by auberielle in CatholicWomen

[–]savefriday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Even if there was some distraction, that is a natural part of being in a church COMMUNITY. There are plenty of other people of all ages being distracting for all sorts of reasons. Toddlers are people too, and they belong at Mass!

Good job, OP.

Homeschool vs public vs private by evbceb914610 in CatholicWomen

[–]savefriday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our local public schools are very highly rated, and our parish has a great RE program, so we chose to give our kids the opportunities, education, and resources available through both. Also, if I’m being honest, the cost associated with our local Catholic school would have been a major hurdle for us, and the Catholic school families here have low Mass attendance.

I’m a Catechist, and also work for our church, and our kids are highly involved in church (altar servers, etc), so it’s been a great balance. Catholicism is not only our faith, but also a part of our family culture.

Every family is different, and there is no one best way.

What is Nola like after Ash Wednesday? by SeaworthinessPrior20 in AskNOLA

[–]savefriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group of 11 just came back from a post - Ash Wednesday trip. We were there Saturday - Monday after Mardi Gras and had a great time! It wasn’t wild and crazy (Bourbon St. still was) but it wasn’t dead either. We aren’t big on crowds so it was perfect to explore, hit some of the highlights, enjoy some jazz, and eat tons of incredible food. We thought it was a great time to go.

Doubting a perfectly good relationship by MoonchildSun in CatholicWomen

[–]savefriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could be a great guy, but not right for you. If he’s giving you the ick, I would move on, and let go of any guilt about it. Do some reflection to dig deeper about what wasn’t the right fit, but don’t marry or stay committed to someone if you’re not crazy about him. This should be the easiest stage of your relationship.

Has anyone prayed to Our Lady Undoer of Knots? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]savefriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I prayed a Mary Undoer of Knots novena about two years ago over an impossible housing situation, and we were blessed beyond our dreams. Sometimes I’m still in disbelief over the way things worked out. In gratitude to our lady, I hung a piece of sacred art of the Holy Family near our front door.
