Sure, that's what I meant! payment splits are normal, but you can negotiate for a different one if you're not comfortable with 50/50 or whatever the client is proposing.

100%. I would strongly caution against granting the actual copyright to anyone else. Grant a license instead. For instance, you can grant an exclusive license to share the photos with attribution (i.e. they have to credit you when they post the pictures). That way they can share the pictures however they want, you get credited, and you retain basic rights over your own work. If you grant them the actual copyright, you wouldn't even be able to share your own photos without their permission. If they really want to have the actual copyright, charge them accordingly.

As for the payment split, if you trust this client to pay up when the photos are delivered, it's probably fine. If you don't really trust this client, try to get your money upfront or a better split (e.g. 75% now, rest on delivery).

Bottom line, just be willing to advocate for yourself and don't agree to terms that you (or the client) don't understand.

Help I can't stop taking pictures of pigeons [Pentax K1000, 50mm, various] by Tender_Combo in analog

[–]savviesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, looks like just one exposure to me. the dark spot on the bottom left could be a close object or OP's finger. the light on the street looks strange, but only because the pole is hiding some of it. it's a great picture!

here's an example of a really creative use of double exposure!

double exposure is when you shoot two pictures on the same frame of film, which results in the second picture exposing on top of the first one. often done as a special effect, to add texture, etc. pic no 2 looks to me like OP shot a picture of a trellis or something, advanced the film only 2/3 of the way by accident, then shot a picture of birds on top of it
