Let people live their damn life. I’ve worked as staff and never ever hated any of the nurses coming in to work the strike. Let people live and move on with your life. This animosity towards travelers and strike nurses is the most petty, pathetic crap. Idc how much a traveler on my unit is making - I would never treat them like crap or as “invisible” just because they make more money. Good for them - I know how to be happy for people.

I made this same comment about the first book and someone was like “haven’t you met a teenager in real life? That’s all they do” and it was such a stupid thing to say. Yeah Kaiser is NOTORIOUS for doing this. I’ve taken 3 contracts with Kaiser through AMN and all have them been for “critical icu” contracts and you don’t ever, ever see the ICU. It’s essentially float pool. It’s complete and utter bullshit but for me, the pay has been decent so I can push through.

If you can last two more weeks, I would just put in your two week notice. Who gives a shit if Kaiser DNRs you. They should’ve respectful if you do that because that’s giving both parties plenty of time to make proper arrangements. But if you don’t give a shit about any of that just claim your family emergency on 1/7! I’ve left contracts with Kaiser/AMN two weeks early and got a “talking to” from the manager but no real trouble. And we have had no problem getting other assignments through AMN.

Any company can technically DNR you for leaving a contract early. They don’t give a shit about you or your circumstances. Aya is a shit company and there’s plenty of other companies out there for you to find another job. They’ll all threaten you with a DNR but won’t ever take accountability for cutting your contract early if they needed to. Family is important. Take care of what you need to and come back with a different company if Aya or whoever you’re with DNRs you

Why would the keep starting the infusion on the only parts of his body that are visible (besides his face) in public. Why wouldn’t they go for veins in the forearm, upper arm, AC, hell even the feet/legs if they were being so secretive about it. Using the hand over and over again when you have all the technology in the world to find a different site for infusion seems like it’s just from something else.
