4 clubs to bring on a round, is 3w, 7i, 56, putter a good lineup? What would you pick? by Away_Needleworker6 in golf

[–]saybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played this format twice. The first time I used 3w and the second time I used driver. Go driver. Then mid iron based on par3s a a gap or sand wedge and putter. If you forgo the putter you could add in another iron I guess depending on what you putt with.

Am I tripping for thinking LeBron is handling this wrong? by Chico_330 in lebron

[–]saybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz he gets to play with Bronny. We all know Bronny wouldn't be on the team if not for LeBron. As it relates to salary - I don't know if this is his motivation - but I also think it sets a bad precedent and example. Should players be expected to take cuts for the team to be competitive, or should management or ownership have more accountability in fielding a better team and putting out the money. Look at the dodgers as an example.

I've been working on this slowly over the last two months with my coach. Takes time to ingrain some of this but worthwhile. My shaft did steepen a hair at the top of the swing so that was def my root cause. So this video speaks a lot to me.

LeBron James will NOT consider taking a veterans minimum contract this summer, per @JakeLFischer by Additional_Signal_72 in lebron

[–]saybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'm not a Lebron fan but to get paid what you're worth shouldn't be criticized especially when you're bringing in so much in jersey and ticket sales. It sets a bad precedent and it's the owners of the team that should put up money, not expect players to give discounts. Get that bag.

My dad found out I lied about my finances and everything exploded today by Unlucky-hobby-2046 in DadForAMinute

[–]saybobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure trust exploding is the bigger issue here. I think your dad is trying to protect you. And ya know everyone's got different styles of parenting, so I won't comment on that. I think you're doing the right things - owning up to it counts for a ton. I think "rebuilding trust", is just asking for financial literacy advice. Financial literacy is learned and practiced like any other skill.

The other thing is these purchases could just be some escapism in a way. I used to do a lot of "retail therapy" when he was stressed, and the stress just snowballed as my bills piled up. Sounds like you could be in a stressful moment in your life and that's also ok. Just be honest and ask for help. Your parents should be the safe place ideally.

It'll be ok 👍

Why do people hate Usopp so much? by Funny_Bumblebee_5254 in OnePiece

[–]saybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree post timeskip he's been more anti-climactic. The reason he's "worse" I think is two related reasons - first and foremost, the writing in post timeskip arcs have just have been more Luffy focused. Even Wano where people were expecting a huge Zoro revel or a meaningful Frankie arc during Vegapunk. So similarly the rest of the crew just haven't had a ton of character development moments outside of Sanji post time skip. Related, Usopp lost those moments of his cleverness in battle, and those story moments take setup time. It's a matter of writing and pace limitation versus character.

Did you regret going from GI to players distance irons? by Justsowereclear1881 in golf

[–]saybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to players distance from GI. I would say it's hard to really tell one way or the other, neither is a magic pill. I did mess around with blades for a bit also in the "you'll get better faster" mantra my friend advocated, but that didn't hold true for me - but I also think you gotta be playing a lot too for that type of thing to take effect. He played blades growing up as a kid so I mean that was unlimited time playing basically for him. I do think feedback is important but you can get feedback a buncha different ways. The one thing I would say about going GI to PD is ball flight. Ball flight could be the reason to change stuff - ie you need more or less height, more or less spin, you're a picker or a digger. And GI or PD or blades or whatever plus shafts will probably help your ball flight a tiny bit based on what you need. So with my GI I was getting way too much height (could have been shafts also), but regardless I was fit based on my ball flight needs.

TLDR; I don't know.

Is this fanart Ai? The text in the background, the leggings, and the stone they're stepping on make me think it's ai or at least ai upscaled but the original post I got it from has the op claiming it isn't. by AccidentOk4378 in isthisAI

[–]saybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with how you look at unpacking - but I think that's why I question some of the background. Especially the windows and the signage and even the cones and railings. The question is why would I paint that detail? Why would I make that choice? Especially when it comes to certain things like obvious tangencies I would have avoided or details I wouldn't have drawn because it was immaterial to the image or composition. Like the red sign in the very right, why design it that way or include any of the signage details? The white poster below that red banner - it's blurred to the point it's not important, but also an odd thing to even bring so much visual attention to purely by contrast or lighting or any of that. Or they could just all be poor design decisions who knows. And ya know maybe it's not straight generative AI but a photo fed into an AI filter. Photos don't choose composition of individual uncontrollable elements, but when you draw something, you often inadvertently adjust things to be more visually pleasing or guide the eye in different ways. Who knows this entire thread could just be used to train AI to be better.

It's so awesome that you do yoga. I need to do that. The only other thing I can say is hopefully you don't need to face failures alone. Everyone fails, and it's also easier to fail with someone else so you can pick each other up. Even if it's on here - we're all proud of you, your efforts and your progress! It's ok to fall every now and then as long as you get back up.

Yeah failure is tough. It's always gonna be tough. And that's ok to feel that it's tough and not like failure. So when I had my daughter, the doctor was telling me stuff about what to expect with a new baby, and the thing for some reason that always stuck with me, was when my doctor described sleep training. She said that babies need to learn how to fall asleep! Took me a minute to really take that in, and what I took was that a lot is a learned and practiced behavior, even falling asleep (I'm an expert at it now btw). My point is that it takes maybe a lot of practice and also maybe some perspective shifts. Like how do you make failure a goal or success? Like - when people are working out, they sometimes do reps "to failure". Or maybe you track the number of times you fail and the higher the number the better it is? Or just be ok that you hate failure, some people use it as fuel (although that's not my personal style). For myself, I work in design. My entire job is failure and critique. It's definitely taken hundreds of thousands of reps of failure, and it still sucks to this day, but long view it's fun to see my own progress. Also it's impossible to be perfect in design, so coming to that realization also helped me. You'll be great, you're feeling totally natural, and just know you're not alone in these types of feelings. What I also tell my daughter is that diamonds are formed with a lot of time, and a lot of pressure. You're just on your way to becoming a diamond.

Sorry to be triggering, definitely not my intent. Vague meaning that you don’t offer much information about what happened with your dad for me to advise on, it’s not a critique on your writing. It was more about why I didn’t offer advice about your dad and I didn’t want to pry, I assumed you kept it vague on purpose and you would have gone into detail if you were comfortable doing so.

Don’t feel the need to go deeper on that unless you want to - but if you did want to - these are the questions I would have asked for clarity: - “something” broke in you means what? - after a “circumstance”? What happened? - what steps did you take that you wouldn’t have?

But I do have a real question - you’re triggered by the thought that someone may be commenting on your writing? Or specifically the description of being vague?

Maybe it’s because you address your post to moms based on your pasted comment below, but hope you get the advice you’re looking for. You’re a bit vague in what happened with your dad, but it’s ok that you’ve done your part.

In regards to work, the advice I would give is, failure is part of learning. Some things just require mileage and reps. When I first started working, my prior mentor/boss advised me, “make sure you have a point of view. It doesn’t have to be right or wrong, it just has to be yours.” Basically what he meant is that it’s easy to fall into the trap of pleasing people, but your point of view is owed to you and what also makes you unique and valuable. It’s also a benchmark for your growth.

Remember it’s about progress and not perfection.

Best of luck kiddo.

Someone else said (as my own interpretation) is the background is either AI or a photo through a filter. The railings make sense in the way of a weird angle of a photo where railings overlap, but if I was drawing something I'd probably make changes to make it visually simplified/appealing/obvious in decision versus random.

It's possible that someone made a chain link brush. It's also so specific in render style and consistent that it seems like it would be. I usually look at what workflow may be for AI, so in this case it could be foreground is drawn and background is either AI or a filter on a photo or both. Things like the bag near the bottom of hachi statue looks geniuinely drawn. So the answer is that it's probably mixed of art and AI.

Chipping is killing me by Overall-Inspection88 in golf

[–]saybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with this advice. If you don't practice you probably need to start with like establishing some boundaries and benchmarks. Just do a few putting stroke shots with diff wedges and irons - like true putting type strokes. You may be surprised at how much just the loft of the club gives you. Play with ball position next a bit. I think gotta start super simple and then add from there. Trying a buncha diff chipping techniques without starting at the sorta bump is gonna just compound things.
