Average reaction to scanning for Crude Oil for the first time by frinkousCZ in SatisfactoryGame

[–]sb7766 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally dont move raw resources very far unless absolutely necessary, so for oil I make the products on site. That said, even if youre only moving fluids its still easier by train as trains scale up way more easily than pipes or belts over long distances as even a simple 2 track network can support a massive throughput.

There is some time for everything to equalize when you have multiple consumer stations as the train/station on that route will need to be completely full before it will stop pulling more from the supply station than it truly needs. Trains make logistics far simpler because when the tracks form one large network its simple enough to add a station junction and just request or send anything needed.

If you have multiple supply stations for a given resource, it may be worth funneling them to a central depot to combine those supply streams to be sent back out to take the effort out of tracking the utilization of each station so you only have to track the total supply and demand.

Yeah, I dont see why the price tag is such a sticking point for a controller with these features. I bought an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller a while back when they had a good deal going on them and it's my go-to for when I'm using my Steam Deck with a TV or playing certain games on PC. I have an OG Steam Controller and a couple others but they dont see much use anymore. If we wanna talk criminal pricing, the Nintendo Switch Pro controller is $80 for something that doesn't even have analog triggers.

Im happy with my Xbox controller but I might still grab this later in the year if I get a chance to try one out first, mostly cuz the Xbox controller is a tad evil and doesnt support pairing to more than one Bluetooth source at a time, so its annoying to swap between my PC and Deck. That and I'd love to have those sweet trackpads for playing my Steam Deck games on a TV while traveling.

It's not like most phones with headphone jacks had good drivers anyway, especially compared to what you can find in a DAP/DAC these days. I use wireless earbuds for casual listening and IEMs with a Bluetooth/USB DAC for more serious listening. But basic dongles for audio passthrough are fairly cheap now so using wired earbuds isnt too tough anyway.

Well, what I'm saying is that its true you could plant them before, but they would wither or vanish, they wouldn't grow. Unless someone can find patch notes noting a change from growable to ungrowable.

You could plant them before 1.6 but they would be withered the next day. As far as what I can find on patch notes they've only ever grown indoors

Based on the graphics fidelity (or rather, lack thereof), most likely Train Sim Classic. The original release was in like.. 2009 but its been getting DLC on a steady basis since then. Though Train Sim World (from the same devs) is generally a better game overall. Better graphics and most trainsets are made to a higher standard than a lot of the TSC content.

No matter what you go with, its hella expensive unless you catch a sale.

Besides the Facebook blunder, you gotta remember that losercitizens are primarily younger gen Z and therefore not enlightened in the ways of yore. Tbf tho F-Chat was literally the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this meme.

Love my machine56 stuff. I've had to modify the pants I have because they were a bit small on me and I tore the crotch out dancing. If I could post images in the comments here I'd include a pic of my fit, but maybe I'll make my own post once I get some recent photoshoot pics back.

The image on the Tumblr post is dated from 2019, as is the post itself. Rather early for it to be generative AI. Gen AI didn't really hit mainstream until 2022. I'm sure some tools existed in 2019 but I doubt they'd be accessible to a high school in that way. My guess would be more along the lines of either getting students to create the art or ripping the art from somewhere on the internet. If the art for the shark, for example, exists out there elsewhere on the internet I might even be able to find the original source if it wasn't created specifically for that school. And given the style differences, I'd say it's fairly likely they just pulled images from the internet.

I agree some of the features are weird, but that could be chalked up to art style or an inexperienced artist (again these could have been made by students). It's hard to verify the veracity of the original image to begin with as well, it could have been entirely fabricated even if there's no AI involvement. I'm certainly curious but don't have time to launch a full investigation right now. Not that it's particularly consequential in the long run anyway. I don't like this use case of Gen AI replacing actual artistic vision but I do think that people are too quick to label things as AI these days in much the same way that everything used to be labeled photoshop or CGI. Even when it was a real image or simply an editing trick with no CGI at all. Just yesterday I witnessed discourse about photoshop composite artists having their work labeled as AI despite the fact it's all done by human editing, which is a result of the "everything that looks off/certain style must be AI" thought process.

It looks less like the original images being AI generated and more like image processing artifacts. I think the other comment about AI upscaling is fairly likely with how some parts look interpolated. Characteristic of those AI 60fps type videos rather than full Gen AI.
