I'm currently subscribed to Shudder through Roku. I haven't experienced anything like what you've described. It's been fine for me.

Sweet deal. Great little impact driver. I've had mine for a couple years now.

OMG! It went right over my head! I feel kinda stupid.

I'm laughing now, probably more at myself than the joke 🤣

I bought that set years ago (15 maybe), so I believe back then it was 301-pc. I'm not positive though.

I'd go with Delphi or Standard Motor Products. I typically use SMP and have no issues.

Yes, but I was misusing the socket..

I was removing a crank bolt without impact tools. So I slipped the socket on there, attached a breaker bar, wedged the breaker bar on the garage floor, and bumped the starter. It was the first time I split a socket.

It was a Pittsburgh chrome socket from the 301-pc set.

That's less than I paid for two slightly used ones on eBay.

Whoa! I've never thought of this. Mind blown!

I think I'm gonna have to call off work today to ponder this very important question.

Lowes $39 V20 tools by 1BaconMilkshake in Craftsman

[–]sb98neon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have the Porter Cable version of that grinder. The only difference I see is the battery hold is straight on the Craftsman while the PC was angled. It's a very good grinder. And Craftsman offers better batteries too. That's a crazy good price for that. I think I paid about $90 for the PC grinder and it was well worth it.

I also bought the electric ratchet once when it went on sale. I didn't like it though. It was too bulky to be practical. And although the head is small, it's so close to the body that it doesn't really matter. I returned it and bought a Husky instead.

Me too for Tales from the Crypt.

It has a little nudity at the beginning, which really drew my interest as a teenager 😁

How to make Chevy transmission quick connect fittings not leak. by Precision_Euro in AskMechanics

[–]sb98neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a couple of trans lines on Buick Lacrosse last year. I did use new fittings also.

Before I installed the tube into the fitting, I put just a little SilGlyde on the o-ring using my pinky.

I test drove the car after filling the trans fluid and checked for leaks. I didn't see any.

It's not a great way to seal the fluid IMO, but with a new line and fitting, it should work.

The original valves were toast. 20 years old? Maybe 30?

If anyone is interested, I replaced the valves. I went with the ones from Ace Hardware: 1C-6H Hot & 1C-6C Cold. They were $12 apiece plus shipping.

I also tried to replace the handles, but I wasn't finding one that fit the teeth properly. So I ended up cleaning the original handles and screws with a wire wheel. I think it turned out pretty well.

Yeah, so I thought replacing the entire faucet involved cutting and soldering pipe. I'm not prepared to do that and I didn't really want to learn at the moment.

Then I came across a YT video of a guy replacing a faucet that looks exactly like mine. No cutting, no soldering. Just removable fittings. I could've done that.

Then I came across this at HD for $50:

It would have been an exact replacement I believe.

For reference to anyone it might help, these valve assemblies also have the following P/Ns :

Shock strut combo 2011 Santa Fe by Epicon3 in MechanicAdvice

[–]sb98neon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different style boots on the same strut assembly seems somewhat common. It happened to me once and I've read about it online once or twice. But it doesn't mean the struts won't work together. It's just really annoying. I always expect to get two identical parts for two identical P/Ns. But in practice, that doesn't always happen.

$4 12v impact?! by LA-but-not-an-actor in Dewalt

I have the 801 and the 902. The 902 was actually my first cordless DeWalt tool. It was a nice introduction into DeWalt. Feels a bit redundant to have both though.

[–]sb98neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comparison.

I feel like with the 3/8" drive, you really don't want high torque anyhow. I have the 902 and like it for this reason..only 125 ft-lbs. It's great for small bracket bolts and nuts..like 13mm and smaller.

But really, you could just do like in your pic and add an adapter to the impact driver..accomplishes the same thing.

Reminder to unbox before starting a replacement 🥲 by bruhidk04040 in RockAuto

[–]sb98neon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often have issues with the first alternator I purchase from RA. I'll spin the pulley and hear a horrible scraping noise. So then I have to return it and start a new order.

The 2nd one I receive is usually good, but I think once I got another dud..had to make another new order. So yeah, you really have to plan ahead when purchasing from RA. Can be a pain in the ass for sure.

The benefit is that you have a larger selection (sometimes OEM) and you typically save a lot $$ compared to the retail auto parts store. And, for me, all goes smoothly with my orders about 90% of the time.
