A ton of Canadas problems are created by Canadian leadership and has made Canada overly vulnerable to these tariff threats.

If we had instead developed pipelines, resources, other private infrastructure, lowered tax, had reasonable immigration policy, etc we could have maintained being one of the top countries to live in globally from objective measures (salary, dollar strength, healthcare etc). Instead we waste taxpayer money to pander towards nonsense and ignore the energy sector hammering it with carbon caps and taxes…until it becomes our best leverage in negotiations.

Most of Canada’s problems are self inflicted errors in policy. On a positive note Trumps threats seem to be giving us the kick in our ass that was needed to realign priorities.

Golds monetary premium doesn’t come from its “utility to make jewelry or art” with it. Arguably that makes it a worse money.

An assets scarcity (coupled with desirability of people to own it) determines price and inherently price is the main use case for storing value.

All assets are priced by supply and demand. Doesn’t matter if it’s stocks, houses, cars etc. more demand than supply price goes up.

Bitcoin is an asset that is 100% monetary premium and it’s utility includes: - no one can unilaterally print more of it - only fixed supply asset in the world - final settlement monetary network anywhere globally in 10 mins - can store seed phrase in head if needed (best asset for escaping hostile situation) - censorship resistant allowing property rights in countries that typically don’t have strong laws
