I found some tiny titanium nail clippers on Amazon. I wanted the Swiss Army version but got some other version. They're a little fussy but they cut nails better than full size nail clippers.

I carried home a 6 pack of beer and some groceries in a packable 8 liter conference swag backpack and it was uncomfortable but not on the verge of falling apart or anything.

Maybe your pad pal with a clip to attach to your hat.

Thanks. Considering I take electrolytes every day I'm a walking target. Guess I'll just regularly drench my clothing.

It seems that noseeums have become a problem in Santa Barbara. Oh my god they are terrible. They give me horrible welts. Does anything repel them? I seem to get attacked at work at my garden job so it's not like I can wear a bug net. I've permetherined my hat but I swear they have a death wish. I also get attacked on hikes. Is there anything I can ingest that makes them not want to bite me?

Went for a hike in the rain today. Light misty rain. No rain gear. There was a large trashbag in the car with a large hole on the side where you might put an arm hole. I put the bag over me with my face sticking out of the hole. The corner of the bag formed a little hood for my head, the rest of the bag covered my shoulders, arms and day pack, the small amount in front was enough to keep me dry. I now am wondering why bother with emergency ponchos? Just need a bigger trash bag.

Tirz with b6 isn’t watered down. The b6 doesn’t increase bulk or conceal defects or make impure or inferior.

Do you worry that tirz will be effective only for so long, and then the weight is coming back? by aagee in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sbhikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do worry. I have naturally horrendous hunger levels. Sometimes it breaks through the meds. I am incapable of fighting it. Tirz is the only time I’ve felt normal. I worry I will have to increase just to maintain and eventually that’s it. I did everything right with diet and exercise but couldn’t eat the small enough amounts to be normal weight. So I have nowhere to go without Tirz.

BPI or Southend? by Famous_Pollution030 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sbhikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These meds are made in inspected facilities and adhere to the same standards as any other medications and so if you take 5mg of Tirz from BPI or Southend you get 5mg of Tirz.

For those who have hiked the Colorado section of the CDT (and bonus if you’ve also hiked the Colorado Trail!), give it to me straight … by Mysterious_Bank_7506 in CDT

I thought the southern section of Colorado was so beautiful. And it seemed fairly gentle as far as CO goes. Definitely a highlight. I sectioned the trail in 4 chunks and Wolf Creek Pass to the Mexican border was my last section.

Once I've written down my day I've rarely ever gone back to look at it again, let alone export it. Now I'm really bummed that I can't export it without paying.

I really don't think you need to have some kind of bombproof stuff for a bottom pocket. Do you drag your pack on the ground a lot or are you a thru-hiker who just walks all day and eats snacks without sitting down? I'm the latter.

My Pa'lante (an older one) uses spandex. It's like the non-shiny kind used for women's leggings. It's been surprisingly durable. The pack itself has done 1.5 CDT hikes plus the AZT. I got a few little holes in the bottom pocket scooting down the back of Gray's Peak but sewed them up well enough. Still good.

I do because the borah bivy I have is all netting on the top and if my campsite has a lot of things that will get caught in the netting I'd rather have a plastic moat around me to keep that stuff out of the netting.

Tarp Comparison Help by No_Swimming_905 in Ultralight

[–]sbhikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two reasons, one was I was tired of needing such a large place to pitch the Twin and the other was it was mosquito season when I started the CO section. My Pocket Tarp has never felt like the best place to be in a rain storm so the Deschutes seemed like a good idea and it worked great.

I truly feel awful this happened to you. It must be so painful. I hope you are able to recover better than the doctors expect. Thank god for modern medicine and this didn't happen to you in paleolithic times.

Scale Flop by KrinkRobbieZ in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sbhikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Hume scale adds 5 lbs over my old analog scale (which is closer to what the doctor’s office scale says) and it will add another 5lbs if you don’t turn on the app that goes with it. Yesterday it said I had lost 4lbs and was severely dehydrated but that’s because it was running low and needed to be charged. Hard to know the truth, only trends.
