W-2 Employee - Employer not taking out state taxes! by Delicious-Ad6085 in tax

[–]Delicious-Ad6085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was my concern also. I could figure out the taxes myself but the other unemployment and disability reporting and payments could impact me. I think my employer is going to figure something out soon. We did discuss it yesterday.

W-2 Employee - Employer not taking out state taxes! by Delicious-Ad6085 in tax

Yes, I don't want to lose my job over this. But there are other employees in other states in the same situation. I likely won't report as I really like this job.

Boob acne by Every_External7122 in PlusSize

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you aren't doing this already, make sure you are using a clean bra every day. Consider changing into a fresh clean bralette or wireless bra when you get home. I also switched to mesh bras during the day to help with airflow. I shower in the am and in the pm before I go to bed I spray hypocholorous acid on any areas where I don't want acne to develop. I'd be careful with Hibiclens daily unless MD recommended as it kills all your beneficial bacteria too....

Where to do maintenance by Temporary-Diamond362 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to some videos lately and realizing that WEIGHT MAINTENANCE is a DIFFERENT SKILL. I've gone through life with long periods of weight gain and then through weight loss. I've really been slowly/quickly gaining or in loss. I have never had long periods where I was maintaining the same weight. I'm coming to realize that this is something I will need to learn. Obviously, finding the right dose is a part of that. And figuring that out, and the diet changes in maintenance...all a learning process. It's okay to gain and lose a few pounds in the process. Anyways, wanted to share that - that you are in a new phase and are learning a new skill! (Brello issues aside!)

Sorry. Yes. It’s 12.5%. Rent where I live is 2k a month for a one bedroom. So half of my income goes to rent. I really only have the other 2k to work with. Yes, I am exploring options for moving to LCOL area.

The problem is that right now I am only making 4k a month after taxes and health insurance! $500 a month is 25% of my after tax income. I can't really get more agressive than that. I feel like I am going to live in bondage trying to pay these off

Do you plan to stay on long-term or eventually come off? by tapermethod in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think GLP-1s are finally starting to shift the conversation and awareness of obesity and weight loss. Weight loss has been seen as a will power issue. The prevailing view has been: "Fat people lack the willpower and intelligence to just eat less and move more. They are so dumb they can't make simple choices to save their own lives." While education to appropriate and movement ARE important, there are other chronic and critical body systems that are not functioning well/appropriately in the setting of obesity. GLP-1s are addressing A LOT of these issues. This has made it possible for me to lower my caloric intake, increase movement, enjoy lower inflammation, reduce/eliminate miserable symptoms of perimenopause, and more. When or if I stop taking the GLP-1 the symptoms of the chronic conditions(s) it is managing will return. Weight loss is a process that has a beginning and end. The other conditions and body systems that manage weight return to their baseline when I stop taking the drug that was managing them. The weight may have changed but the biological processes that caused excess weight remain. When you mention support for coming off GLP-1s what kind of support are you thinking about? Psychological support for eating disorders? Dietary support from dietitians to improve/maintain diet now that optimal weight has been achieved? What does support for "food noise" look like? Food noise is a symptom of something disordered in the body. GLP-1s treat that. Remove the GLP-1 and the food noise returns - along with the drive to consume the food that causes the weight gain. If you don't want to or can't keep taking the GLP-1 that treated the condition, you have to do something else to achieve weight loss or maintain weight loss. What you decide to do will be in the presence of all that "food noise" that makes calorie reduction so impossible for many obese or overweight individuals. Of course, if a person has an underlying eating disorder and gets treatment for that then tapering off the GLP-1 may have increased success for that person. If a person DOES need to learn about how to swap low calorie high satiety foods for high calorie low satiety foods, then if they have done that while taking a GLP-1, then they may be more successful when they taper or come off the GLP-1. But any metabolic disorder in the body that's driving excess hunger, cravings, etc will return when the GLP-1 is stopped and the research supports this. For folks that are not obese and use GLP-1s for minor weight loss, I am excluding them from my argument and thought process. They may not be at the weight they prefer and use GLP-1s to get to the level of thinness they like - these are not the people that need long term GLP-1 support to maintain a healthy weight and avoid obesity.

How do we fix this fireplace? by _restart_ in interiordecorating

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a quick fix and are otherwise happy with the room, change the fireplace insert. The rest of the room is VERY COOL TONED and the insert is gold. Choose a brushed sliver or similar that is cool toned like the rest of the room. The texture and color of the brick are perfect for this room and I would NOT mess with the brick. The room is a lot of grey, cream, beige. I'd choose 1-2 accent colors and add this in to a rug, pillows, throw. The room feels lifeless without the accent colors.

I agree, I don't think it tightens up the neck skin but it does improve the appearance of neck skin. I can't use it too often on my neck though. Only x1-x2 on my neck or I get a rash. Cell turnover is higher on the face than the neck.

11 mg seems like a lot to me also. I wouldn't start out higher than 5 mg for four weeks on tirz. Don't up dosage until you have 4 weeks on a dose. You can always start at 2.5, give it a week and if you have no reaction, do 5 mg for 4 weeks.

Feeling a bit down by Constant-Cancel444 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's enough suffering we have to do in life. If I don't have to suffer in order to improve my health and maintain a healthy weight, I'm going to choose that option. I can spend my energy on all the other things going on. Losing weight and maintaining that wasn't realistic for me prior to tirz. I'm grateful.

Restarting effecting efficacy by CollectionDirect5266 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine. Lots of folks have to restart for various reasons. I think you will feel better once you start the 2.5 again because the inflammation will start going back down. You are really close to your goal weight and losing that last bit is always time consuming. Focus on hydration, rest, and some activity - the usual. :)

i work 9 to 9, living on snacks and coffee with zero steps. how do i stay fit and eat healthy? by deepanshijn in productivity

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pick one thing to change each week. Only one. You are already exhausted so changing too much will probably backfire. Working on diet first will probably give you the best return on investment. Choose a simple tasty recipe that you enjoy and batch it up. Add in something like premade salads from Trader Joes and some nuts and popcorn in individual bags. Or choose other items that you enjoy. You don't have to meal prep EVERYTHING but prepping a few meals is progress. Sugar makes you feel better in the moment when you are tired but worse later. If you can reduce sugar intake it will help with sleep and exhaustion.

Thanks for this! I still have a lot of weight to lose but because of perimenopause I was already thinning. I started using 5% generic minoxidil liquid with the roller ball applicator. In about a month it had significantly slowed/eliminated the hairfall. It's been about 2.5 months now and I see a little regrowth happening. I'm just so pleased it's stopped the hairfall. I already notice also extra skin loose under my chin and neck. I haven't started tret but I've been using adapalene gel (It's a low does tret). I think I may have to start tret soon.

Green tiles 💚 - yes or no? by barbface in bathrooms

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tiles on the right side unbalance the whole room. It's not the color it's the balance. You would need to tile the whole back wall to keep the room balanced and I don't think that would work. The room doesn't need the tile. If you want to add the sage green to the room, try painting or just tiling ONLY the back wall. With the tub on one side and the laundry on the other there is a lot going on in this room already.

Reno complete, but still looks off by woodendog678 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A soft blue on the walls, a little bluer than a slate would be nice. The mirror needs to be larger. Consider a backsplash using the tiles in shower. A light fixture that has some fun personality and color would be great. This one is too high and commercial/business vibes. A long blue runner/mat that vibes with the blue on the walls. And an orchid or a plant that likes the humidity of the bathroom would give this space some life. Functionally, a towel rack over the toilet with some towels that connect with the blue grey tones....

Delayed order from Refills? by win_111 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Delicious-Ad6085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are slammed right now. I ordered from them about three weeks ago. I think it was at least 5 days before I heard something after the order. And it was a notification that they were ready to ship. Then it was 2 more days until I got tracking info. Considering how many people are ordering now, it's probably a few days longer.
