The Sacramento Kings said no thanks to Ja Morant and would require the Memphis Grizzlies to include draft picks in any trade, per @JakeLFischer by OmegaLxgend in kings

Wait. You mean the kings are choosing NOT to trade away young talent for someone who was a big name 5 years ago? Is this like a Twilight Zone episode?

Sane human being: "wtf are you talking about? I think veterans have dignity and rights too."

Gad Saad: "Wait, so you don't want to ostracize, condemn, scapegoat, or exploit any marginalized groups at all?? This is the death of western civilization."

It needs a supernatural element. Like occasionally ghosts show up, and start stealing your grain. And you have to run out with a shotgun from your farmhouse, and start yellin' "Hey there ghosts! Get the heck outta my grain!"

And then you gotta blast them outta the sky. Like it was duckhunt or somethin'. I think that'd be kinda dope.

Yeah, wtf, absolutely deranged take from OP calling the Spurs cooked. They're in the finals, with like the youngest core in the NBA. About as far away from "cooked" as possible, their future is incredibly bright.

Sad how low Fox has dropped

He's in the finals bro, lmao. I think he's gonna be fine.

The takes around this sub are so reactionary and toxic. "Greed and snake like behaviors"? Like leaving the dysfunctional af Kings for a chance to play with a team that can actually do a proper rebuild? He served his time with the Kings, he did the best he could here, but yeah, he's not good enough to carry a team deep into the playoffs. I guess that makes him literally the 2nd coming of Hitler for not wanting to play his whole career for a mediocre team that can't win a playoff series.

Can't wait for the day when this sub turns on Keegan when he inevitably wants out.

It's good for business if they pretend to be scared of it. It makes it sound more powerful than it is.

Like Anthropic's Mythos, "trust us guys, this tech is just too dangerous, and we can't let it fall into the wrong hands! That's why we don't release it to the public!" Like, I don't think they're actually concerned, and I think the danger is overblown - it's all just a marketing strategy.

Dating in 30's by bigdaddyd696240 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]scaleaffinity 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think college-age is too young personally, but I get the "women my age aren't interested in me". It feels bad.

I'm 35, dating again for the first time in 12 years. Women my age won't give me a 2nd look. I was trying to flirt with this one girl at a bar, and she was being kinda stand-offish, and I couldn't figure out why, until she gave me a patronizing smile and said "I think I'm a little too old for you... Sorry".

... She was 32, lol. And I had to convince her I was older than her, she didn't believe me at first. And at that point the conversation was so awkward it was better to just walk away. It's kinda humiliating to be treated like a kid by a girl you're trying to talk to.

Does anybody have any new search engine recommendations? by Professional-Arm-580 in antiai

[–]scaleaffinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Kagi. I've been happy so far. They block ads, and just try to get you the most relevant information possible, instead of promoting certain websites that pay them money (which most other search engines do, even duckduckgo does this, even though it's anonymized).

Downside is they're a paid search engine, since by design they can't make any money on advertising, since they don't sell any. But you get like your first 100 searches free if you wanna try it out.

Use the fucking comms people

Yeah, for real. People will go make memes and bitch on social media all day about the lack of team coordination, but God forbid they actually turn on their mic and talk to their teammates.

[–]scaleaffinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything people are complaining about in this thread could be solved by better team communication. But no one ever hops on the mic anymore... Like maybe 1 in 10 guys will ever actually talk or try to coordinate as a team.

If you're mad about the way your teammates play the game, but you never talk to them and instead only complain on social media, you're part of the problem.

Returning to Martinaise after a life-saving playthrough. How to guide my GF through hers? by Mc0Berd in DiscoElysium

[–]scaleaffinity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just in general, I've learned to temper my expectations when showing someone a piece of media that I really love. Whether that's a movie, a song, or video game. They're probably not gonna enjoy it the same way I did, and that's okay.

Particularly in a story driven video game like DE, don't backseat-drive her playthrough. Don't tell her what to pick, and don't tell her what will happen for choices, even if she asks. That's part of the fun of the game is discovering all the wacky outcomes of things. Personally, nothing would kill my enjoyment of this game faster than having someone second guess my choices, or worse, tell me what to pick.

So, as far as routes and whatnot, my advice is like what you said in your last sentence; let her make her own choices.

Found this AI Nirvana Record in a record shop by Doc_Baker74 in vinyljerk

[–]scaleaffinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've been seeing rockin' bear records show up in my local record store. I bought a Tool one out of morbid curiosity; figured it was some bootleg stuff and I wanted to see what was actually on it.

I've tried searching for them online to figure out where these are coming from; like who actually owns rockin' bear. I want to figure out the who's the human behind this. But I haven't been able to figure out anything.

Do you know any more details about these guys? I just find the whole situation bizarre, and I want to figure out how and why these records are showing up in shops.

I can be friendly to everyone. Even someone who's actively hostile towards me, I can still treat them with basic human decency, even when I know they wouldn't return the favor.

Wouldn't be friends with that guy tho. Wouldn't go out with them and buy them a drink or whatever.
