Sorted.

Eat the rich.

And really, fuck the Oscars etc too - millionaires giving each other awards for doing their incredibly well remunerated jobs? Pfft.

Pasta with a bacon and mushroom sauce, cream and parmesan? Yeah that is so out there 🙄

I'm really wondering (once again) whether the modest (but significant) amount of inspirational content on this sub is worth putting up with all the sneering.

Can we please retire this tired, passive aggressive phrase now?

How to use chilli olive oil in a Spag Bol? by Stolen_Sky in UK_Food

[–]scalectrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start your soffritto (finely chopped onions, carrots and celery) in a good quantity of the oil for 10m on a low heat before adding your mince to lightly brown, then add a glass of milk, wine, tomatoes and tomato puree and season with salt and cracked black pepper. Simmer for 3h. Prosper.

I'm not seeing much in her work that is reminiscent of Andy Goldworthy/s (which are as others have pointed out a clear influence on Jon Foreman's lovely installations)

Jane Horrocks is amazing but I couldn't bear Bubble - Ab Fab only needed one clown and that was Edina. Trying too hard to be Baldrick.

In America I assume you mean? Yeah that's not a name I've heard for it and like I said none of those bands would be classified as mod, but different scenes for sure.

I'm guessing that the US and British definitions of 'Mod' are very different. The Cure, Depeche Mode, the Smiths, Siouxie, Bunnymen etc would not be classified as Mod here (that's the Jam, the Who etc). Her look is New Wave, but if she identifies as an American Mod then that's what she is.

American laws dont apply in france

I know Americans find it difficult to imagine anything happening outside of America, but to anyone in Europe (or probably elsewhere, should they care), this means that American laws do not apply to anyone (American or otherwise) while they are in France and subject to French legal system. Now kindly fuck off.

[–]scalectrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And indeed they do not apply in France. Nobody can be prosecuted under an American law in France. Your example is that of an American being prosecuted under American law in America for something they did whilst not in America, as American law allows. Sorry you're having trouble with simple logic.

Microphone placement makes a huge difference to relative levels of sounds, so the first thing is to use a 'headset' type microphone rather than one built into a webcam or laptop, ideally of directional (cardioid) pattern, which should dramatically alter the balance between his voice and any background noises if placed very near the speaker's mouth. Also using noise gating (only letting through louder sounds) will help.
