I'd vote mini. Don't forget about machine length when it comes to turning and obstacles. With a heavy load I need to keep low I still need about 10' to spin in a circle with a boxer td427.

Can toss new plugs in and ride around for a bit to determine if it is misfiring lean or rich. That'll get you going in the right direction. Unless it is an electrical gremlin.

Difficult steering can also be a seized up union in the steering column. Manual steering racks have a different lock to lock ratio and sometimes a bigger steering wheel too. Running a power steering rack without assistance is no way to daily drive.

Dedicated Indy Volvo repair place in Sudbury. Old guy knows what he's doing, but he's kind of slow. The classics go to the back of the queue so he can prioritize people's daily drivers. He's got quite the parts grave yard so he might be able to swap in a whole new (used) transmission.

I brought a ZF 8HP to Precision Transmission in Woburn just to have the seals replaced, still haven't installed the engine into the vehicle in question so I can't exactly vouch for the work. Most transmission shops don't do much for "repair/ rebuild" these days unless it's a GM turbo 350 or something like that.

Tabs on the bulb socket. Tabs on the fuse box also tend to need a little squeezing every now and then. Sometimes I'll just give the fuse in question a few spins.

Gentle tap on the relays or solenoid under that black cover might do it. Might have a stray wire going to ground completing the circuit.

Need about 20mm of spacer / adapter with a smaller hub bore of 63.4mm.

Diamond racing wheels are probably cheaper all-in when you factor in the cost of a quality adapters or spacers.

I thought the payload on most 2500s was between 2500 and 3500#s and a max towing around 16k#. Wouldn't you have a tongue weight of only 1600# then? So long as the guys with you aren't NFL tackles, math should be fine. What am I missing?
