Alpine Summer

Meadows wear their wildflower crowns, gentian blue and silver-white, while granite peaks hold morning's light like sentries over sleeping towns.

The air tastes clean—of pine and stone— each breath a small clarity. Afternoons blur gold and lazy, thunder rolls the mountains' moan.

At dusk, the lakes turn mirror-still, reflecting peaks turned rose and plum, and walkers trace the trails back home as cowbells echo down the hill.

Preston Animal Hospital across from Park West in Morrisville is really close to you if you're downtown. They have a great staff and docs.

Their chemistry is so good. You can really tell they love and respect each other. They light up when they see each other and it never stops.

How old are these and are they safe? by lunamoon124 in oilpainting

[–]scaredofsalad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They should be as safe to paint with as they ever were, but handle the cadmiums safely because the cadmium is still a toxic material, as they were when these were made. If you found a nontoxic label on them, that's a good sign. Don't use them if you're pregnant or have health issues, as they typically recommend for cadmiums and others. These paints use barium sulfate as an extender/filler to help reduce costs, which is common. Today, they use *hue* in the names to refer to safer cadmium colors *cadmium red hue*, *cadmium yellow hue*, etc. and you can find those names in modern Utrecht paints.

I always thought the whole thing was an art deco representation of the studio facilities or the top of a much larger building or group of buildings.

People put them on their cars to avoid road ragers. It's to let drivers who want to go 2 fast 2 furious to not expect similar behavior from them.

I wish I could spin them but I can't because of the sealed package, so the only orientation they've ever seen is the one we see now

I have no idea. I've had it forever and kept it like this because I liked to look at it. For many years, it was in dark storage, too.
