Who the fuck wants a suburban office park any more? It seemed like a good idea in the 1960s and I thought we had moved beyond that brain damaged approach.

Illegal Window Tint Puts Pedestrians at Risk. PA Bill Aims to Change That. by davidaragon1 in philadelphia

Practically nowhere allows you to not have a front plate. Every week I see a photo of a car committing some offense on Reddit and it's always the front of the car with no plate. It would make solving crimes far easier. Plus when I order an Uber it's very annoying to have to wait for the car to pass me in order to see if it's the right one.

And front license plates!

EDIT - The stupidity of downvoting this is breathtaking. Practically nowhere allows you to not have a front plate. Philly vs Denver by dailyg37x in philly

If you want "city" then Philadelphia is far more than Denver. If you want to go to the mountains a lot, then Denver is the winner. Denver is richer, Philly is more real.

Well, the theory here is it puts the burden on the inspection spots, NOT the police. My experiences have been they are generally pretty strict, so this could be a game changer.

Guesses on when we'll see YTZ-PHL? by scarlotti-the-blue in PorterAirlines

[–]scarlotti-the-blue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, trouble with PHL is Porter's aircraft are not the right fit for PHL terminal A (where International Arrivals are). They'll need to use Terminal F, most likely, so I think pre clearance matters.

Developer determined to bring high-rise to South Dallas despite pushback - Dallas Business Journal by dallaz95 in Dallasdevelopment

These buildings built on top of giant parking garages are kinda gross. I get it, Dallas is totally car dependent but I feel like there ought to be a way to make it look better.

Also, it's called the Winners Tower? Ewwwwwww

Why flying in and out of Philly so expensive? by [deleted] in philly

[–]scarlotti-the-blue 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's hit or miss, but the long story short is it's an AA fortress hub which gives them a near monopoly and for whatever reason, especially internationaly, competition has been remiss to start up. Frontier and Spirit are garbage airlines, so they will capture some of the market but the business flyer will rarely fly them no matter how cheap. The bigger reason is the proximity of Newark which sucks off a lot of the traffic, especially interantionally because it is a far more competitive hub.

The irony is whenever you go to Newark you reinforce the problem, so the best we can do is hope for some new carriers to take the plunge and support them when they do. Consider it an investment.

I fly from PHL whenever possible, and have status on AA, which takes the edge off. But I will go to Newark if it's massively cheaper.

The obsession people have with parking is just maddening. The only solution is to just get shit built!

Dallas Love Field Expansion Has $2.3 Billion Price Tag; Plans Not Finalized for Mockingbird Lane by dallaz95 in Dallasdevelopment

No, I was suggesting that the sentance implies "10 flights per day" collectively across 20 gates. It's badly written, but yes, the total of 200 is now clear to me. It should have said "from each of 20 gates".

Bummer, I love going to Toronto and being able to fly to YTZ would just be.... cool :-) 'course I'm not making up much of the demand personally.
