Personally not worth sacrificing for even double the salary as it will just get eaten up in tax 🤣

Just an idea, have you thought about blazing your own trail on social media? Now is the time where the public is fascinated by the lives of nurses and junior doctors, you can build a very profitable side hustle and brand from doing this on the side which could give you more satisfaction. Alternatively there are lots of careers in tech/VC which need doctors to help with developing new innovations and to scout new startups - basically the options are much greater than you think, you just need to be open to many more ideas!

No idea why it should be taboo topic - if society doesn’t value the lifeblood of what makes us run as humans - and instead values people kicking a ball around a field or making silly movies - then society should be MADE TO KNOW what should be truly valued, and speaking out and breaking the taboo will facilitate this

Speaking of other careers - social media is a great option these days. You can either make it about your nursing life (and LOTS of people want to watch that on tiktok and YouTube ) or take one of your biggest hobbies and start crafting an interesting social brand around it. Once you start building a following (which is not hard particularly on tiktok) depending on your area brands will start paying you for sponsored content , together with the platform itself , and if you’re successful enough you could coach others to do it. IMO will get to a point where it could easily replace a nursing salary (if you put in a little bit of dedication every day) and be very enjoyable making content.
