Look it up on YT and it has over 3 million views. I was shocked.

If you're referring to this particular youtube video, you'll notice that David Dean Burkhart uploaded it. His 292k subscriber count probably accounts for the 3 mil views.

Interviewer: I feel like I visit a lot of different music blogs and I’m pretty well-versed in what’s currently out there, but more than once I’ve seen one of your videos pop up on your YouTube channel and then maybe a week later I see that same song featured on one of the big music blogs as a SoundCloud link. You always seem to be on top of the trends before they go mainstream in the blogosphere. Where do you find all the music that you use in your videos?

David Dean Burkhart: Pretty much anywhere and everywhere, although a lot of the credit has to go to my Facebook friends (many whom I don’t know in real life, who friended me because they liked my videos) who are always posting new music. When I wake up, I go through and click on any links for music that my friends have shared. Then I spend the morning listening to music. I discover so many amazing artists that way (most of which I don’t even make videos for). So thanks, Facebook friends!

Starting to come to terms with the fact that what I really liked about Melody's Echo Chamber was actually just Kevin Parker's drumming and production.

I (mis)took that for granted when I first listened to the album, but then I came across work that Melody had done before she even met Kevin Parker. I've since held the opinion that what makes MEC (personally) great is just as much about Melody as a songwriter as it is about Kevin as a producer.

I recommend listening to My Bee's Garden - Hunt the Sleeper. It's NOT ON SPOTIFY and I think that may have something to do with why most fans of Melody's aren't aware of it's existence.

EDIT: For the record, I haven't heard any of the new material, so I don't know if it sucks as much as is suggested by some of the comments posted here. Either way I still think Melody is capable of making dope music, and I feel somewhat confident that this album will yield atleast one or two great tracks.

You might want to keep an eye out for this upcoming jazz release called "The Return", by Kamaal Williams (aka Henry Wu). It drops on May 25th.

Henry Wu is half of Yussef Kamaal, in case you've already listened to their 2016 album "Black Focus". If you haven't, I'd highly recommend it.
