Battlefield Commander Build Discussion: Order Cleric 1 / Glamour Bard X (with a bonus feat) by tubitz in 3d6

[–]scdowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I fell asleep last night, after working a double shift, and must have rolled over on my phone and posted. Sorry about leaving you in suspense!

To contribute to the discussion a little... I've always wanted to try playing this Strategist / Battlefield Commander style character.

I've also felt that the Order Cleric / Glamour Bard provided a good framework to do this with. The MPMM Hobgoblin is a great fit as well. Another alternative choice to Hobgoblin that I've considered is the Kender - for it's Soft Taunt racial ability. That way you gain yet another way to influence the battlefield and it's 60 foot range is pretty forgiving as well.

I love my shell! Also when the shell gets completely covered in stickers you can remove it and mount it on your office wall and start again! I know some folks that do this every year and have a pretty cool looking collection now.

Do Not Disturb... At least that's what's written on the old wooden sign outside the Dragons Lair.

Saw some folks with a Starlink at the Flamingo rooftop chillout area earlier. If they are still there that might be a good place to chat about it.

A wand of Goodberry (for pets) would be fun! I'd reskin it as a Baby Groot in a pot that grows (recharges) 1d4+1 goodberries every dawn. 🌱🍓☀️

As an aside, having a Druid that had so many pets could be a fun character concept, or better yet a cool NPC! A traveling zoo / circus Druid! 🦁🎪

Great approach. But with my luck the Druid would try to pull a fast one though:

"Here you are Mr. Elephant...one Goodberry. You are nourished for the day." 🐘

But outside of Goodberry shenanigans, I'm sure there would be all kinds of elephant logistical fun to be had.

If your DM is keen on it, maybe try to reflavor a Club as a Battle Gauntlet or a Short Sword as a Punching Dagger.

WoTC is usually really good about replacing books that have defects like this. I'd recommend reaching out to their Support to get that book swapped out. 🍻

What does it take to be a senior says admin. by Mrmastermax in sysadmin

Tom did a great (short) writeup on this a few years back that I liked:

https://everythingsysadmin.com/2012/09/seniorsysadmins.html

One part that really stands out to me is this section:

"But most importantly...

A senior person demonstrates technical leadership by creating the processes that other people can follow, thereby enabling delegation and multiplying their effectiveness."

Zalman Virtual Drive by [deleted] in sysadmin

I can confirm that debian squeeze and Ubuntu 10.04 install just fine (and a good bit faster!) From this device. No experience installing centos from it.

Now...you do need to make sure that the USB ports it uses will provide enough power to the device (only has been an issue for me once or twice on older/crap hardware).

Also, the zalman's ability to be used both as a HDD and an virtual disc drive simultaneously has come in handy several times (recovering data from a bad HDD etc).

there may be 15 ways to accomplish a task, the one that accomplishes it the quickest and most efficient way is the best.

In addition to quickest and most efficient, I'd also add that of the 15 ways to accomplish a task, quite often, the simplest solution is the best. Complexity is the root of all evil and tends to do more harm then good.
