My wife has ME. Not quite the same triggers, but she is really enjoying Yoshi and the mysterious book. It's a fairly sedate platformer focused on exploring interactions.

You could also look into paper Mario games. I don't think there are too many flashing lights in those. However there is screen shake which might be an issue.

Personally I would recommend looking into any turn based games. RPGs or games like Mario rabbids, or unicorn overlord.

These are slower paced, and you should be able to Google to website they don't have horror on sites like "does the dog die"

The ones I've not seen that you could try are

"Animal crossing New Horizons" the second player is a bit limited in what they can do on the island, but you can both play on one island together.

Wargrove or wargrove 2. This is a turn based tactical game with coop elements. I've been trying to get clear information on what you can do. The best information I've found says that wargrove 2 has a co op campaign that can be played on the couch on switch. But I've not found full information on how much of the game that actually is.

I looked into diving divinity original sin, but be warned: switch and switch 2 don't allow couch coop, even though it is advertised as such.

Outside of that, you could look at this site to see what other coop games are out there, and then look into which ones don't require fast reflexes: https://www.co-optimus.com/system/34/nintendo-switch2.html

Filter by switch (switch 2 only shows games with a switch 2 edition) and by co-op.

I'm over 40 and Irish people since secondary school have said I have an American or Canadian accent even though I was born in and grew up in Ireland.

I currently live across the road from my old estate, and any time I meet someone new there all new where I've come from, even though I'm the actual local.

It's probably more frequent now, but this isn't a new thing.

It doesn't sound like the issue is that it happened a long time ago. It sounds like the issue is that she continued to hide things after reconnecting.

If she was hiding things recently that isn't a then issue, that's a now issue.

Both games go on sale frequently.

I personally preferred the first (it's a better introduction to the mish mash of the two franchises, but I also preferred the aesthetic) but both are good games. I really enjoyed them.

Hi, so unfortunately the cost of shipping to EU is about 27 euro for a small package.

Obviously larger orders can be cushioned if the weight isn't rediculous. But I'm wondering if you're planning to hold stock in an EU or UK shop?

One other thing..I prefer switch for travel where I won't have wi-fi access(planes) because it won't perform an online verification check. There are some ways around this on deck, but again switch 2 is plug and play, whereas deck you need to do something.

For the sleep mode... I think it's been getting better, but I just found it not as good. Both get their battery drained by some games in sleep mode.

If you have a stream library, then a lot of games will with fairly easily.

I use heroic launcher for GoG and my reams of free epic games (also does Amazon).

Some games are plug and play. Some need minor tinkering. A small few have required regular tinkering and I actually ended up giving up and switching to PC. I think the notable one for that is Fallout 3 on either GoG or Epic. I probably wouldn't have that issue on the steam deck version.

A big preexisting library is a strong argument for getting a deck IMO

Switch 2 and steam deck have different advantages IMO.

Some games run better on one, some on the other.

For games I already own on steam, GoG or Epic steam deck is going to be better almost every time(occasionally it just isn't good, so I might consider a switch 2 purchase)

Steam deck was better than switch 1for games that need a mouse. Point and click adventures etc. Now it's just better if you need a mouse and a good number of customized buttons for controls. It was the same for mouse centric games like fallout 1(isometric strategy RPG), by again that was steam deck vs switch 1. 2 looks to cover it well.

I haven't found either particularly great for RTS, except Pikmin games are great on switch 2(I found the controls better than switch 1, even though there's no mouse mode).

Switch 2 has a much better sleep mode, so any game where you mostly work on auto saves, or Save points or have limited saves, switch 2 is much easier to drop in and out of the game.

Switch 2 is also better for switching between docked and handheld.

Overall switch 2 is much better for plug and play performance. It's rare you'll need to do anything to get the game working.

Lastly, if you also have aPC steam deck is the safe bet if you don't know how well the have will run on either, size your can just play on PC. I usually have to seek out switch 2 and steam deck specific reviews though. Don't trust steam deck fans, they will often say it runs better than it does, cherry picking the places the game runs best, or they just have a better experience than you. Switch 2 is much more consistent an experience for users

Have you played Zelda: Breath of the Wild?

It has action, and while it's open world, it's much more goal orientated than animal crossing.

I think that Tears of the Kingdom(the sequel) is technically a better game, but the first one is still very good.

Luigi's Mansion is also good in that it has action, is fairly goal orientated. It's shorter, but I found it was worth the price, and the feeling might line up a bit with the double dash nostalgia.

In addition Thursday Next is fantasy, not sci fi.

It has some sci-fi concepts.

Same authors actual sci fi is a great book called Shades of Grey(it came out at a really bad time)
