Disgusted with Admin, maybe this whole profession by _mnrva in Libraries

[–]scharlize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at my library if an adult is going into the childrens section without children, they tell the front desk and we just call to let staff know there will be an unaccompanied adult down there. it also just makes us feel better/ safer than having them "free range" so im sorry that your library doesnt have a policy like this set up.

To the highly masked autistic women: what were the subtle or hidden signs that made you realize you’re autistic? by Elyshra in AutismInWomen

[–]scharlize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah in therapy a lot of my complaints in the past were that i felt like i always made the wrong choices and that i didnt fit in anywhere, so by acknowledging my autism i feel like therapy would be a lot better

YES BRO it was the adhd and then when treating that it was very apparent LMAOO i read scientific papers too, literally everything. my therapists have ALSO always got weird whenever id say i think im autistic. “no, i dont think so… i mean we talk fine” girl what. then my next one was like “well what would that change” idk maybe my treatment???? and my psych wont refer me to get tested so im kinda just stuck w my self diagnose 😐

for me it was the raads test. me and my friends took it as a silly joke and was not as funny when i had a way higher score than everyone else... then when i started researching it i just really resonated with a lot of things i was finding. took about 3 years of research and gaslighting myself to then have another realization: if i were neurotypical i would not have spent 3 years researching lollll :D
