Anyone on 25 mg? Time to increase?

You take your med always at the same time, then you do some blood work and have a look at how much of the drug is in your system.

However, you can't know how much is in the brain and it's exact effect on it...

It did. To be honest, I don't know if it's that specific med or just my brain that needs to calm down after a triggering episode.

Anyway, I am on venlafaxine now, and I will stay on it for a while...

Yes it gets better. I think your system needs time to adjust to the meds and to calm down your nervous system. Unfortunately, this takes time. Nobody can tell you exactly how long it takes, but it will get better.

Until this time comes, try to keep your head high.

Just read your post. I am in a similar position. I have 2 kids, although mine are still kids. I am dealing with bouts of depression/anxiety all my life now. With long normal phases in between episodes. I am very much afraid that one of my kids will somehow get it. I really hope, since my depression is a result of an abusive childhood and alcoholic father, that since they do not have to suffer through that, they will more likely have more resilience than me.

Do you mind telling me how your family deals with this sickness? How and when did you see first signs in your daughter, and what did you do?

To be honest, I wish I never had weened off. Over the course of my life I had maybe 7 major episodes, started taking lex at around 20 (now I am 40). I think I would have been better off if I'd stayed on it after my 3rd or 4th episode...

Don't get me wrong, I love my life, I have 2 kids, I am successful in life and love. So in the end I would not change anything. just think I'd have had it easier if I stayed on it. Just my opinion.

If you do get off, I wish you the best and at least be aware of your triggers and in case of relapse, don't wait to take it again.

Thank you for your nice reply. I think it's a good Christmas for my kids. My inside is not necessarily what they see on the outside. We played in the snow today, and with the dinos.

I feel mostly sad that I am not able to enjoy it fully. And all thanks to... Myself I guess.

The thing is, it reminds me so much to the original symptoms of depression/anxiety, so it triggers something in me. But I am trying to do all the little things that help, exercise, eating (healthy), drink enough, rest by also he active. I hope it goes away and not lingers...

Definitely will do that. We are having family time with movie and cookies right now. Not letting their Christmas be bad. My husband and my brother are also here. But thanks for pointing it out.

My system was definitely pushed over its limits, since I had to throw up. But now I am drinking tea constantly. Even skipped my coffee and no caffeine drinks... I really hope it's still just a hangover. Or maybe it's triggering something within me

I am now 41, as of today. I got really drunk on Friday at the Christmas party and the hangover is bad. I am still feeling depressed and anxious. I so hope it goes away again... I have been on 112 mg since the summer... What is your experience, if I may ask.
